i wouldnt mind dropping a supra engine if i could
they drop major hp
but enough of that
teufel, you had your pipes customly done
i dont suppose you could get them done for me
and we could work out a price?
i would like to know more about your setup
that is, if you dont mind sharing
i can get that turbo for a good price and an intercooler for a good price
but i need the piping
also, do you think running a trans am take off exhuast would be sufficent for just a turbo kit at lets say 10psi

Any engine can drop major HP with a turbo ;)

I'm probably not the guy you want to see about getting some custom stuff done. I'm not in a good position to set prices or anything like that. In my experience, it's usually better to have someone local do something totally custom. That way, you can be there when he makes it.

I'd be happy to tell you what you'd want to know about my setup. I'll have some more pics of it pretty soon.

A stock WS6 Cat-back would work fine.. just be sure to upgrade all the pipes to match the diameter of the cat-back.

like what pipes i would need
someone said i could use the ati intercooler kit
and w/ some custom work it would be fine
but what custom work am i looking at
i am a novice at all this and need a guiding light

If they're good at it, they'll know what to do as soon as you walk in the door with a turbo in your hand :D The way you have to look at this is, there aren't many kits you can buy that will work for you. The custom stuff you're looking at is all the pipes being routed to and from the turbo. Trust me, talk to some of the local speed shops and, they will be able to help you with pipes and fabrication and all that good stuff.

The supra engines are only 3.0L's
What do you think that engine could do n/a?
When people turbo there 3.8 camaros they like them better because they have keep the low end power but have loads more up high.
That's what hapens when you turbo a n/a torque mill.
Go in the shop and be like "I want this(holding the turbo) in that (looking over at your car)"

Supra motors are designed differently than our motors are. they're capable of higher rpm's, which allow for more hp production based on valvetrain setup. supra's easilly run 6500+. we don't run 6500 plus very often. horsepower is actually based on engine rpm, so higher revving motors have an easier time making hp than lower reving motors do. I'm sure they flow a lot of air to make 700 rwhp, but it is peak hp. they don't make 700 across a broad powerband. they do it for maybe 100 rpm. The peakyness and powerband is controlled by their camshaft events, so they don't have to flow a twice as much air in and out of the motor to make twice as much power. they are more efficient than that.

I've seen 450+ rwhp LS1 f-body's and Corvettes run bigger than 3" single exhaust. I've seen 3.5" exhaust of f-body and dual 3' on corvette's. If they didn't need the extra piping and could get away w/ 3", then why'd they put on bigger? It's cuz the motors are taking in a lot more air, just based on size alone, not counting valvetrain and heads and induction type.

besides, ANY turbo motor will prefer the least backpressure possible, so bigger piping can't hurt performance at all.

And i've seen the same HP FBodies and Corvettes make the same power on a single 3" pipe. :D

Sure, Bigger piping won't hurt anything, and you might see a couple more horses with a 10" pipe run under your car, but the only point i'm trying to make is that you don't NEED a gigantic pipe for great performance. ;)
