Come on now, think about it! A supercharged V6 against a supercharged V8!?!?!?!?!!?! A supercharged V6 is lucky to get NA V8 power, get real.

You right that an SC'd 3.8 is no match for an SC'd 5.7. Though you may be surprised at how well a mildly modified blown 3.8 stacks up against an NA 5.7. Visit ClubGP.com to see some of the times those guys are throwin down.

He didn't say a supercharged V8... read the sentence .....beat a z28 with 'the' supercharger, not with 'a' supercharger ;)

To be honest I have never driven a Z in order to know the difference. I do know that most of the GTP dyno'd in stock form are putting down 280-300+ ft/lbs of torque to the wheels, with just a 3.4 pulley and intake they are putting down 350+ ft/lbs. Based on the torque numbers of the Z this should put the GTP right there with it in terms of stop light performance.

I believe it was Stefan that once said that a V8 would throw you back in your seat at first, but a supercharged V6 would sort of propel you forward at a fast, but constant, rate.

To me it feels like the boost takes a second to really kick in, whereas the v8 has the power as soon as you put your foot on the pedal.

I think w/ enough boost a supercharged v6 will be just as fast if not faster than an LT1, and maybe a tick slower than an LS1.

Hey Night Rider, do you post as Big Phil, or something like that, on ClubGP.com??

I have no doubt that a supercharged V6 could hang with an LT1/LS1. I think I'd give an LT1 a run for its money now and I only have minimal mods. With a few more relatively cheap mods I could be seriously approaching LS1 territory.
