Fuel Pressure drop

This is weird. I usually see 45-47 at idle. Yesterday it dropped to 40-41 at idle, very close to 39. When at normal cruise it's around 44-47. When I nail it, it never gets higher than 68-70. Usually I see 80 or even a 100.

Another weird thing is, no noticeable loss of power. I think it even felt a little faster or maybe just my imagination.

The blower was very hot though after 36 miles of freeway driving. It was so hot that I couldn't even put my hand on it. I notice the whistling sound was a little quiet too.

I wonder if the weather had some effect on it. It was over 100 deg and very humid. Today the weather is little better but the thing is still the same.

Your fuel filter may be getting clogged. Might want to change it.
Also, it's very possible you were going faster. If you were running lean (but not lean enough to cause a lot of KR), lean=faster. Which also accounts for the charger being to hot to touch.

umm hot wheater always puts my fuel psi down the FPR cahge withthe weather. densair you need more fuel

Thor, I had a similar problem a couple of months ago where my fuel pressure was doing that. I was running lean because of the lack of fuel and I was getting major KR because of it. At first I thought it was the walbro fuel pump going bad, but after I pulled the pump out, I saw the fuel line on the pump had came loose and it was leaking. So I put the hose back on and tighten it down real good and that solved the problem. Running fine ever since. I think my fuel pressure was around 40 psi at idle and not to much higher then that while driving around. It got worse as time went by though. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice guys. I will buy that filter. I should change it anyway.

I'm also going to wait see what a cool weather would do. Because yesterday and today is very unusual. It's very hot but at the same time there's a thunder storm going on less than 10 miles from me.

I will check that fuel line and see if it's leaking. I just hate openning it up that cut out panel. The cut out is really terrible.

Well, what you described is exactly how my cars fuel PSI has been since the SC install. 41-44 norm, 66-70 WOT. And anywhere in between. Never has it gone over 71. I still need to change my F filter.
