Can anyone tell me if this would work on a 3.8? I'm wondering, because it replaces the stock fuel pressure regulator, instead of working with it like an FMU would. I have heard that our FPR is part of the fuel rail, and can't be removed. So can we use this or not? Why haven't I heard about it before on this board? it looks like it would be very useful in getting a car with forced induction to run right.

It's a universal part, as far as the fuel rail part of your question I don't really know the answer to.
I have a cartech adjustable FMU sitting here for my TT setup I guess I'd be interested to know a definite answer to this as well. I know there are some guys running FMUs (Tiago, for one) with there FI setups.

I had mine out, to swap it onto the new fuel rail when mine cracked at the schrader valve... It was easy to remove with the fuel rail out, but I'm not sure how you could do it otherwise.
There's an internal snap ring on the back side, and I could barely touch my fpr with a fingertip, much less reach around the back of it and take a snap ring out.
To take the fuel rail out, I had to take off the stb. On the drivers side I unbolted the coils and laid them off to the side, and disconnected the fuel and return lines. On the passenger side I unhooked a hose, vapor canister return I think, and some bracket for it. (oh yeah, the nitrous fpss and the fuel pressure sending unit from the schrader valve had to come off too). That's all I remember.
Whatever injector connections come loose should have new o-rings put back on too. I don't know if you can make sure all the injectors stay seated in either the intake or the rail. Seems like some of mine stuck in one or the other, so you might ought to plan on both o-rings for each injector just to be safe. But there is a clip on the rail side, so if you leave those clips on, then you should be ok on that end of the injector, so maybe just the intake side after all...
