  • My 3.4 Turbocharged project.....

Hello you all... first time poster here (go easy on me) ;)
    I've got a '94 automatic 3.4 Firebird that's driven 46k miles all stock...
I've gathered some parts for my kit like:
    Air Reasearch TO4 turbo (.58/.60 A/R)
    ATI adj. FMU
    LT1 TB and Injectors
Holley AFPR (the same as Tiago uses)

I can do all the piping, welding and mods. myself..... Now I need you guys to help me picking out parts that I should put in it.... like what fuel pump, what gear ratio, should I port match the intake and heads or do a full port job (I've ported heads before). And how do I adjust my A/F ratio... what's the optimum fuel pressure and so on....

    Thanks,
    Kristinn from Iceland

You will need a full purt job on those crap 3.4 heads to make some real hp numbers.
It is a auto so you might want to think about 3.73 gears with an LSD. Lose the stock cam for some thing a little bigger.
The fuel pressure depends on your fuel injectors.
I have a lot of pictures of mods for my 3.4 camaro I'm trying to turbo on my cardomain site, you might see some thing that gives you an idea.
Do you know the trim on that turbo?
I have some cylinder head modifications on there to (not just porting).

also if you do decide to cam you car with the turbo look for a cam that has the least amount of overlap. i think the stock cam is actually not to bad for turbo's but i could be wrong. and yeah porting the heads of a 3.4 is a good idea in general along with the lsd and 3.73's or 3.42's. i think the general concensus is to go with the walbro 255 fuel pump. as for fuel pressure and stuff like that... i think you might need to talk to tiago, or another 3.4 turbo owner. the 3.4 is not an engine i am extremely framiliar with.
