today i did a 4th gear pull up a bridge from about 1800 rpms to about 67 MPH (didn't have time to look at RPMS) lots of load on motor going up this hill
i was watching the boost guage now of course i can not be exact on the RPM's but my girl was watching the MPH. (not using stock gauge using my digital one)
at 2200-2300 i had 1.0-1.5 PSI at 2500 i had ~1.5-2.0 at 2800 after 2psi the boost came on alot faster i let out of it and 67 MPH and i had 3.5 PSI i can't say what the rpm was exacly cause i didn't look traffic was around and i relized i was doing 67 in a 25
i have to 2 boost gauge's and they read the same always within .1 or .2 psi of each other (one from dakota digital (only reads in .2 steps) and one is the boost controller) so the BC reads 3.5 and the dakota gauge reads 3.4
so whatever rpm 4th gear at 67MPH is for a 5 spd with 3.23
also i have checked my speedo with my GPS and it is within one MPH.
i have notice that in 1st gear i get into boost for like 1 second before i have to shift. (from stop)
in 2nd gear the boost comes on earlier but not alot of time in full boost (from low RPM like jsut chuing down the street and flooring it)
same in 3rd.... it seems to be the sweet gear boost though out most of the RPM range start at like 2500....... (same as 2nd)
"racing" the boost comes back in all the gears soon as the pedal is on the floor as it should.
like stated you have to load the motor to spool the turbo. so for the M5 the 3rd gear seems to be what this turbo/setup likes.
3rd gear has always been a nice gear to me at low speeds the motor can get up in the RPMS and pulls well.
