Boost Gauge, need help find good vacuum line on 2002
What vacuum line are you guys tapping into for your boost gauges? Im asking because im going to be hooking mine up over the next few days (when ever i get time) and I wanted to make it as quick as possible [img]smile.gif[/img]

It is the fatter line that goes in right next to the throttle body. I thnik it is coming from some kind of sensor on the left side of the engine. But nonetheless, that is the line.

Okay here is my question, i hooked the gauge upto the vacuum line on the passenger side wheel well. The gauge is showing vacuum around 20psi and 17psi when the ac is on.
However it doest "bounce" around it sits really steady and will move a little on and off the throttle. Is this correct movement or should it be moving more quickly and have a bouncy'er reading?
P.S. The only vacuum line i noted on the intake was on the back passenger side, it was hooked to a sensor. I didnt find one on the front part of the intake (closer to the throttle body).

Are yuo talking about the line that has the valve on it that is wrapped in with the fuel lines?

It should go to zero, or near close to zero when you step on the gas, that is probably the wrong line, hook it up to the one I said, you want intake manifold vacuum/boost.

You got a picture, because our TB's are a bit different since i have a 2002... the only line i readily saw was the one on the back of the manifold on the passenger side...

Give us a picture.... I'm still confused and I know Joe is as well.
It is on the pic u posted...its covered in red wirewrap, it is on the left side of the throttlebody looking at the pic, and it looks like it is hitting the serpentine belt. Its the only vacuum line in the pic I think. It has a 90 degree boot on the end that almost looks like a spark plug boot. Let me know if it helps.

Sorry I can't go check on the car as it's in the shop. I seem to recall all of them being just electrical sensors, nothing mechanical or vacuum-like about them.

It is definately #2, double check, u may think its electrical, but its a hard vacuum hose. I replaced mine with a silicone hose, and tapped into that and it works perfectly. Good Luck.
