I've got an opportunity to get one for pretty cheap, less than $200. Before you guys start, I know, you get what you pay for, and the thing wont have all that much boost, but 40HP more for that price isn't really all that bad in my books. So my question is; has anybody done this, or thought about it? Is it even possible? Will it clear my hood? And finally, if it is possible, does anybody know a site where somebody has done this before? Any advice, comments and criticisms are welcomed.

Unfortunately, from what I've read in the past, it's not exactly compatible. It can be done but it would probably cost a pretty penny to customize it to get it to work.Red 1999 Firebird M5
Whisper Lid,Borla Catback,K&N,Dual Friction Center Force Clutch,Hurst Shifter w/Lou\'s Short Stick,!FRA,Suncoast Ramair hood,160 Thermo,!maf,Chrome ZO6 Wheels, Painted Calipers, CIA Headers, Taylor Wires, NGK Spark Plugs, 3\" Catco, Jet Chip Stage II, BMR STB, LCA, PHR, SFC, Fan Switch, FTRA
Old Dyno Numbers: 183 RWHP, 217 RWTRQ
http://community.webshots.com/user/redsixer

Please do a search. This has been discussed to death.
The supercharger is an Eaton M90.
This is the L67

if youre looking for cheap, this is not the way to go... as im sure you know with enough money you could somehow get it to fit.... but that would cost A LOT OF MONEY

Oh, sorry, didn't even think to do a search. Stupid move. Anywho, I can get access to a machine shop. http://www.rcbi.org/rcbi_home.asp They charge the general public around 30 bucks an hour for the machine work, and I've got the ability to design any adapters that I might need. I've got Intellicad, Autocad20002, and Solidworks, and I've got nothing but time to design. I'm majoring in Mechanical Engineering, incase you're wondering how I got my hands on those Programs and still need a cheap power solution. If I do go through with this, I may use anything I have to make as a project for my classes.~Chris
1999 Hugger Orange Camaro
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/273836

†…faith…hope

eaton m90 isn't even all that good of a supercharger.
do an ati or vortech supercharger kit (centripical (sp?))
or a turbo kit
ati kit should be done soon, no turbo kits out there for 3.8's. Make one :-P Course that is a lot harder than a supercharger.2001 75th Anniversary V6 Pewter Firebird w/ Chrome Wheels, T-Tops, & Y87
Mods: Free Ram Air, !Silencer, Holley Filter, Full 3\" Hooker Catback, 3\" Cat
Best time: 15.095 at 90.00 MPH with a 2.127 60\'

Go for it , its not impossible to do.
I've been searching for the link (but can't find it) of a pic of a Firebird that was shown at a SEMA convention. The engineers took a whole L67 and put it under the hood of the Firebird. It took lots of time and money, but they did it.
I would love to see someone actually do this.~Derrick My Webpage
\'96 3.8L V6 M5 Firebird Y87 | 162.8 RWHP / 196.7 RWTQ
• SLP CAI • Y87 Package - 3.23s • 180º thermo w/ fan switch • TB spacer from DEE
1991 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4x4

I hope u have the ability to cut into ur firewall and move it back about 3-4 inches around the top of ur engine, cuz it's gonna need someplace to mount the throttle body and maf sensor. ZZPerformance makes a LS1 throttle body ugrade for the M90 supercharger. it won't take as much room to put in becuase u can move the maf sensor uo more on the intake tract instead of it being directly linked to the throttle body(like on your V6). they also will be coming out w/ a larger sc that'll fit just like a M90, but be able to pump more air into the engine w/o heating it up too much. u'll also need the L67 heads since the SC doesn't leave enough room to fit the injectors into the manifold.2001 Arctic White Firebird
More mods than I\'m allowed to list!

You'll need more than that, and more money than installing a Powerdyne.
You need L67 heads, pistons, rods, and fuel injectors. Modify the oil pan to lubricate the M90. Custom programmed PCM (neither the F-body nor GP PCM will work), at least a ram air hood to fit it under, custom intake tube to put the TB at the front of the engine (that's how GM did it), increased flow fuel pump.
Cool setup if you have about $10,000 to spend.

Your best bet would be to just build you current engine with forged internals and turbo it. Strobhen was right when he said that the Eaton M90 wasn't even that great of a supercharger, it is very inefficient.2000 GTP
Thrasher CAI, 3.4\" pulley, DHP PCM
Member RedLineVSix
Best ET-14.02
Best Trap-97.15

I agree this could be more cost effective than an M90.

You will need the Heads, And fuel injector assembly and other small components, pullies etc. You do not have to switch pistons and rods IF you leave it at stock boost levels we had a few L36's with L67 top ends with stock boost that ran just fine with no knock on 93 octane.

Not accurate, the M90 is internally lubricated.

Believe it or not, after you circuvent passkey and a few other small changes which can be done without too much trouble (not inside the PCM), the GP PCM will run in an F-Body. It's much easier with a 5 Speed, however the trans controls for a 4L60E are almost identical to a 4T65E with the exception of TC application, this would be VERY easy to circumvent.

93-97 Require a WS6 Style hood, 98+ will fit with a stock hood in place.

Actually, that was a completely different M90, not available on this shore.
Hope this clears up some myths this project is a pain in the *** , no doubt but the gains are well worth it if you do your homework and go junkyard diving for parts.Chris White
1989 Turbo Trans Am #70
2004 GTO - Procharged
2005 G6
2005 Equinox LT AWD
