I installed my boost gauge today and have the line running through the firewall but I don't know where to go from here. Could anybody show me a good vac line on the drivers side of the engine? Also I have been to every parts store around and nobody has the 1/8 Npt tee fitting I need to tap into the vac line so a part number or place to buy it would be a lot of help. Thanks in advance

the smallest they have is 1/4 " thats the prob. You think I should get two adapters to make it go 1/4"? Also what size is the vac line you recommeded?Garrett

2001 WS9 W68 Blackbird A4
Custom Turbo...Chrome ZO6...WS9 Hood...
Custom Leather Interior...
much much more...see website

http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/637795/

here you go.
http://home.comcast.net/~grayman99/V...onnections.htm
Also: you can flare the end of the copper tubing boost gauge line and slip the hose over the flare. I use small zip ties on all rubber/silicone hose connections as little hose clamps.
If you are using nylon tubing from the boost gauge thrue the firwall then check out by above link. I detail the types of npt fittings you need to transition from 1/8 to 1/4. It is ok to use 1/4 or 3/16 (suggested) for rubber/silicone hose connections becuase it just makes the connection tighter. use a little soapy water to lube the hose if need be...not oil or grease.
just in case....here is another link...it is for wireing into the fuse panel for gauges and stuff. I have more guides and info on my site for many FI related topics and mods.

ok I have it all set up with a 1/8" t connection on the end of the hose coming from the gauge...Now I need to put that t into the vac hose but I was wondering how I shoud do this. Can I just cut the vac hose above the elbow and put the two ends of the 1/8" t in there or is there another way?Garrett

2001 WS9 W68 Blackbird A4
Custom Turbo...Chrome ZO6...WS9 Hood...
Custom Leather Interior...
much much more...see website

http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/637795/

i have not cut any of the stock vac tubes.
for manifold vacuum/boost reading i put a T on a stock vac elbow and then one small section of vac tubing to the manifold where I removed the elbow. the 3rd end of the T is connected to the boost gauge.
before the boost gauge though I have another T. one end of the T goes to a one way check valve and from there to the FMU. the other end of the T feeds the boost gauge.
You could cut a stock vac hose but I just don't want to do that. they are made of an unfamiliar (sorta hard) material and I don't know how well they stretch over barb ends.
