joe if the BOV is vented to the atmosphere on your car with a MAF it will cause it to die as u described, this is somethign I experienced with my boy's supras. wish I could help you out some more.

I remember when Stefan was blowing out his dipstick. IIRC, I was the one that figured out why he was. IMHO, plug that hole, then go to autozone and get a crankcase breather. I have to use one on the GTP since I have an adapter plate for my LS1 tb that blocks the PCV passage.

DO you have the TB screen?

FYI, I have worse exhaust manifolds than you and stock cat, that is not the problem. I am pushing well over 300HP right now.

I almost suspect the MAP somehow is messing up since your timing numbers are all crazy.

          Any KR?

I am only seeing KR when at WOT on the topend it jumped as high as 13.7 once(FMU is disconnected, it causes the car to die at idle)...

My MAP is showing 10 to 12HG at idle

My MAF is showing .7 to 1.0 LB's of air at idle

Throttle Blade Position is showing 4.7 to 6.0 at idle

Injector pulses are at 3.XX to 5.XX at idle

Ignition Timing Advance is shooting all over the place from -1, 0 all the way to 12.XX

Engine load at idle is 3.7 to 5.0

I also get frequent misfires at idle

Maybe i need to approach this from a different angle, maybe the computer is working correctly but i need a maft+ or some other air/fuel too to smooth things out?

Edit: I will post up my config file and autotap log so if anyone wants to look at it they can...

Also, hole is plugged and i have the oil filler cap off right now. I cant get the neck free from the valve cover to put the filter i bought on.

That oil filler neck is a PITA to remove, just keep yanking it around and it will eventually come out. (feels like you are going to break it)

Do you still have that Bosch BOV hooked up? If you have it venting into the atmosphere and not back into the CAI setup then you will experiance that irratic idle problem. The same thing happened to me. Disconnect the vaccuum line from the BOV and put a cap on that T and see if it fixes your idle.

Im assuming by venting it back into the CAI that it actually draws more of the excess air out of the intake and reduces the amount that surges the MAF while idling?

This was my assumption also but I have not made another hole in my intake to find out. So I still have the vaccuum line unhooked on my BOV so it will stay shut and not cause my idle to go wacky.

I had it routed back into my airbox and it was a waste of my time and now i need a new lid :/ ... Does anyone else have the BOV actually hooked up correctly and working?

i had the same problem on mine except i was blowing valve cover gaskets and oil pressure sending units.Taking off the filler cap and putting on a breather does not work...tried it. that throttle body mod Mccanda said is the ticket. im not a supercharger expert but just lettin you you what happened to me.also a BOV would work but i have no idea how to put one..i only had it on my car for a little bit but my motor was to weak to handle it. good luck!

Is this the Ftforce/RKsport Powerdyne unit that has this problem? Is this a common problem?

If the unit is installed and the TB mod is done correctly you should not see any pressure problems. I plugged my TB per the instructions and have had no pressure problems at all, not even on the nitrous.
