Being leary of additives is good, IMO.. i never put chemicals in my car except for BG44K once a year. Don't worry about the mileage.. as long as your car has had a decent life and hasn't been overly abused or neglected, it'll hold up fine.1998 Camaro, Arctic White

Garrett P-Trim T04 turbo

348rwhp, 379.5rwtq @ 10psi

I neglect my Z28, no one touch it for a year and a half. I jumped it and started right up.
Now if it can just sit for a nother year and a half and fire up next time I come back.
It has a lot of miles you might want to pull the heads and check them out and put on a new head gasket.
Get a new fuel filter and clean the injectors.\'85 Z28, T-tops new LG4 and TH700
\'85 3.4L 5-speed
mods: http://www.cardomain.com/id/oil_pan_4 the nitrous exhaust O2 safety, pg 3.
Areo space materal engineer wantabe

if you've been on regular dino oil dont switch to mobil id say its to late in the mileage. a full syn can cause leaks. if your an automatic do a fluid filter change, add a tranny cooler. then the basics.

I'd totally recommend switching all your fluids to synthetic. Hell, i even grease the bushings on my panhard rod and LCAs with synthetic grease. Synthetic is awesome stuff; Can't go wrong with it :D

At 81K the motor should still be in its prime.

I'd rather have a small leak or two with synthetic than have no leaks with regular crappy oil :D
synthetic protects better hands down, been proven many times. why a person wouldnt go with it in a high performance application is beyond me.. even if it was only for extra insurance

Like stated a syn will clean the inside of the motor out, which in turn can cause a leak. i agree with goin syn trust me all my cars have had it since day 1. It was just a heads up it can cause leaks. and dont forget if your goin turbo u need 1 stage colder plugs with a tighter gap.2004 srt4 few goodies
13.3 @ 103.4

i whent to syn when my car had 75k and did have any troubles,
also when the guy rebiult my motor (umm for performance) he could not belaeve how good of shape it was in, he said its the only motor over 50k he has seen that clean (had 87117 at time of rebiuld) he also said i could have got away with not boring it if i was just doing the standard rebiuld. he said it looked like a 20k motor inside. and i drove it like angle for the 15K i had it..... yeah right www.turbov6camaro.com
