yeah...i was just HOPING for 12s...its gonna be tough on street tires...i really need drag tires ... my 9 lb. pulley...and maybe the 3.42s and headers...but we'll just see how it comes out...some guys say mid 13s ...some guys tell me high 13s ...(although that one guy got low 14s by just taking of the exhaust and air filter and everthing else stock..so i'd like to think with my car i could do much better...plus SSs run low 13s and i just beat one yesterday haha)...so i guess i'll shoot for mid 13s ...and if i get better...that would rock! ...still much better than a factory 16s sloth

by the way...im not stupid enough to run with all that weight lol ..i spent a good couple hours yesterday literally removing about 250 lbs. from my car...the difference is awesome...i think the wheels/tires and the gears are whats going to hurt me the most...but next season i'll have new tires...3.42s...and i might even get to run again this year with the 9 lb. pulley if it comes in time

hey...i do have a question on drag tires though (i've never used them) ...someone mentioned that bald street tires are going to hurt me...then whats the big difference between them and drag tires?...are drag tires just softer or something? ...anyways...yeah its tough having the best of both worlds (i show the car too and placed every show so far this year..woohoo!) ...but with enough time...i'll make it work

slicks and DR's are alot nicer then bald street tires..

blad streets are pretty good.. most people dont realise it because they replace them to early.. there are alot of misconceptions about that..

however.. strett tires are a stiffer compound the race tires.. so they wear less.. and last longer..

where as a drag radial or slick has a much softer compound that will not last as long, but grips alot better..

thats the fundamentals.. there are other aspects not mentioned here.. but.. you get the idea..

AllTheGoodNamesAreGone ...by cutout...do you mean for the exhaust?...cuz i think they might make me put the close-off plate in my exhaust...over the phone they just asked me if i had a "working" muffler...i just said yes...but im thinking to myself...it works...its just not working right now haha

err.. well a cut out is a shot 1' chunk of pipe with a short extension with a block off plate.. when at the track you can remove the block off plate and essentaly run open headers.. the put it back on and run normal relativly quiet exhaust..

                understand?

ummm bald street tires are in now way shape or form good for racing....Once worn down they will become hard and stiff....NOT GOOD FOR TRACTION....crappy tires with some rubber left will be better....soft tires = gripy tires

get an electric if you have the money then you can open it while driving and dont have to get under the car and take the plate off.

thanks for the info on the exhaust guys...it'll suck if they make me close it up but oh well...i'll probably go with an electric over the winter...which is when i'll invest in some drag tires too

so i just went and did some practice starts with the nitrous..it seems like 1200 rpms is my best place to launch..sometimes the tires squeeked but i still havent let any psi out ...nitrous kicks in at the top of first without any wheel spin so thats good...and i took along a stop watch and did 0 - 70 in 6.24 seconds so that was pretty cool...im not gonna rule out high 12s cuz ya never know i guess...but i think im lookin good for low to mid 13s
