  • Need help with fuel lines and vac lines

Hey guys, I am trying to install my fmu, and I need to put it in the fuel return line. IS that one of the three lines up towards the front of the engine bay on the drivers side of the engine?

Either way, how do I plumb the -4 AN fittings into our hose?

Also, I have to hook up a fuel pressure sender that has 3/8 threads... can I put this sender on the return line as well? (before the fmu)

I dont have any idea about fuel lines... thanks!

Also, I keep searching for info on the vac lines, but I cant seem to figure it out- where should I plumb the boost sender and the vac line for the fmu??

It's the one that says Blower installed....I think its page 2 or 3 when I start having the fuel line hook up problem. Theres a lot of imfo and even a picture or too thanks to Iron man.

Keep in mind that those AN fittings on your FMU may not really be AN. If they are brass and the flare angle is 45 deg. then they are not true AN fittings which are 37 deg. If you try attach the two, the aluminum AN fitting on your hose will likely crack. As far as routing goes, you plumb from your return line downstream of the rail regulator to the port on the side of the FMU and from the port on the bottom of the FMU back to the tank return line.

Oh, they are definitely true an fittings- they are blue aluminum and they were actually aftermarket fittings put on the fmu.

Looks like I will have to pay 70 bucks for tiny fricken fuel lines. oh well.

I still cant find these fuel lines! I called vortech and they cant find them in their computer. I am going to burst a blood vessel if I cant find these damn adapters soon.

If you are looking for a fuel line that has GM quick disconnect on one end and AN B-nut on the other, they are available but expensive. I've considered cutting my fuel rail line just before the GM fitting, putting a 37 deg flare on it and pluming in a -5 AN union then fabricating a braided line with AN fittings on both ends to connect to the FMU. All these parts are available at your local speed shop. Check if they have the proper flaring tool. Do not use a standard automotive flare, it is 45 degree!
