• Turbo kit initial release

Hello all - I'm glad to see there is still some healthy movement in the V6 f-body arena. For those interested in turbocharging, your time is nearing. With the success of Jesse's car, despite a clutch failure, we are nearing full production. Through Forced Fed Fabrications, KBS Turbo will be releasing the series II kit shortly. We have run as much as 14psi into the engine with no ill side effects. This was done during heated summer days as well! You also have the option of going from 7psi, to 14psi or beyond with 15 seconds invested under the hood. Combine with enough flow capability to support later engine mods with no kit modifications (other than a tweak on the boost controller), and the fact that the kit will be priced more than competitively with others out there, I think it will be a great success. More bang for the buck is any racers philosophy and it shines true here. For your money you get...

-A customer configurable tubrocharger where we will offer the customer the ability tweak the turbo configuration for different driving styles

-A highly efficient intercooler system which when combined with the excellent turbocharger efficiency which reduces risk to your engine.

-All mandrel bent piping produced on the lastest computer controlled benders which greatly reduces the number of weld joints that will be incorporated

-All flanges are laser cut with a high powered c02 gas laser for the greatest accuracy.

-This kit will provide a stock L36 with excellent power and response yet has enough growth potential to support a well modified engine.

If anyone interested specifically in the turbocharger system, please feel free to ask. As a disclaimer, I understand this, as with any message board on the internet is often composed of folks with different points of view. I ask that those who are not considering the purchase of this kit to refrain from illict questions and comments which prevent those who wish to participate in a clean forum to do so. Challanges and arguements are a place for another thread, some of which have already been generated.

Thanks
Bryan

i have a question that has been on my mind for quite some time.

both tiago and redcat are not running to the exhaust..its just open downpipe right?

anyways.. since i just spent lotsa money on my full exhaust.. i'd like to use all of my exhaust.

with this turbo setup.. would you be able to provide 3 inch piping so that the extra exhaust goes all they way back so it goes through my cat to my flowmaster muffler?

thats my main concern. i dont want open down pipe.

also, what will happen to my headers? will i recieve a totally new y pipe? similar to how xjarayax's headers look?

im just curious how this would work out since i have pacesetter headers now

yep any ideas on the cost of this kit???
my car is still on my garage Death by the way. but so far i've saved some money in the last 3 months. so i haven't decided what i'm going to do
i have 2 options:

1.) Rebuild the engine, put a mild cam (i know, i know but i don't like the chop of a hot one ) and get this kit. Almost LS1 power

2.) rebuild the engine (stock) sell the car, and get a 99 Z28.

i know about the power of the z28, but it has to be fun to get almost that power with a turbo on a v6.

for this project i have $3000 right now and maybe another $1000 in 2 weeks. i haven't take a decision so far but i'm going for camaro forever v6 or v8.

so it would be good if we know the price so we can make our next movement

thanks guys and keep the good job. :D

All that for $3500! That is more bang for your buck. I'm sure this would be a hot item here.

Since I live in Cali., will the kit be easily removed and return to stock exhaust and intake when it's time for smog.

OFF TOPIC: With all the kits coming out, there should be some kind of financing/loan going on. So that way more people here could have one. Meaning, I know that people can afford monthly payments for this if there is one. ;)

If they could actually do that...

yes, that is the only way to keep costs down without having extremely expensive custom headers and keeping the A/C system. The car still has plenty of ground clearance, but on a lowered car that could be a problem.

As for financing, unfortunately right now this is not an option as its really a small scale operation, no big companies to bank the financing. Who knows in the future though lol.

so the turbo connects to the Y-pipe and is intercooled. what else would you need to buy to have this run good (injectors...) how much horsepower would it add and torque. would it be safe on a car with 60,000 miles?
