• My Powerdyne Installation Progress

I saw how helpfull greenglow's powerdyne installation post was/is, so I decided I would try to make one as well. Greenglow: In no way am I trying to compete with your thread- I just found out how much extra help can be needed with these installations, so I am going to make another post, because 2 is better than one.

Pics and descriptions of each step I took are on my website:
My Web Page

So far, I have the boost gauge sender and the crank breather installed. I am waiting on fuel line, a gauge pillar pod, and an up-pipe before I can go any further.

I think you got into the idle air control passage, rather than the pcv system. If so, now your car will draw in unfiltered air when idling.

I'm pretty sure the Idle air control airway is on the top of the tb. I did work on the bottom of the tb.

Also, I ran my hand into the intake manifold and felt where the tube that I drilled went, and it went straight for a couple of inches and then dipped down, with no openings- it didnt open into the intake manifold, so it had to go down to the crank.

I think you're right about that. It's been too long since I had mine apart...

I have a spare intake and tb laying around. This evening I'll take a look at it, and try to chase down where the other end comes out at.

Thats cool man. I dont think theres a such thing as threads competing... Atleaste not in my book. Keep your thread going strong for those new powerdyne users out there. Besides I think they really need a new step by step install guide cas I cant seem to find Macaandas install guide anymore. Then if somthing goes wrong they can check out my thread... He He.

Yep, you're right.

The passage goes back, then down, through the upper, then down into the lower intake, then over to the one side through an exaggerated teardrop shaped opening in the head, between two of the intake ports...

Lol, thats way more in depth than my method of looking for a hole on the other side. Hehe.

Like green glow, I am having an absolute biatch of a time trying to hook up the fmu. I need every suggestion I can get- I cannot find any adaptors or anything anywhere!

The install was on hold for a little while until I could find the fuel lines, but it looks like they will be dropped in the mail to me tommorrow, so I should be able to have the blower on by next friday!

Yea I was just getting ready to tell you that I ha to buy my fuel lines and adapter from Vortech. If your plan dosent work out just call vortech and tell them that you need the fuel line adapters for the v8 camaro of your year. They dont make v6 fuel lines but they are the same anyway. Then tell them you need the proper fmu screw fittings that match up with the fuel lines you just ordered. As long as you have the same FMU (made by vortech) that everyone else got with there powerdyne then everything will hook up fine. Good luck and keep us posted. Trust me Ill try to help you with everything cas I know your pain.

Alright, today was a great "harvest" day! I order the fuel hose from vortech. Also, I picked up a schrader valve adapter for the pressure gauge, and a hose barb fitting for the 1/8 npt tee fitting for my vacuum line. I also picked up some vacuum line, and mounted the fmu.

I bought NGK TR6 plugs- are these good plugs for the supercharger?

After changing the plugs, and welding the intake up-pipe into the right spot for the 1998.

All I can say is SOON!

Alright, I've got some new pics to put up- I didnt realize how easy it was to get the schrader valve adaptor! If anybody needs one, its made by NOS and it is for all newer gm's. Nice!

I know, this post is all boring until saturday, when the supercharger finnally goes on.
