• Powerdyne grooved pully a success!

After a solid 3 months and 170 post of trying to figure out the bugs it seems as though everything is right now. So ere is the official report of my car. I will try to be as specific as possible. My best time before the powerdyne while running on my STOCK TIRES and all the mods listed below minus the powerdyne spark plugs straight pipe cat and fuel pump was a 16.142 @ 86.08 mph with a 60 ft of 2.351, my 1/8 was a 10.349 @ 66.74 mph. my best time before correcting the fuel problem on STOCK TIRES with all mods listed below was a 15.419 @ 87.72 mph with a 60 ft of 2.384, my 1/8 was a 9.903 @ 72.34 mph my new best time after correcting the fuel problem and running on my 18 INCH CHROME Z06 rims and tires (stock ones were stolen) and having all mods listed below was a Drum roll please........15.391 @ 91.11 mph with a 60 ft of 2.382, my 1/8 was a 9.869 at 76.01 mph. Not exactly stellar numbers but you can see the improvement in the mph. Im sure that the 18 inch rims are slowing me down considerably. I could probaly pull a 15 flat by just having my stock tires on. But that's not the major problem. The problem is that my car has a open differential! As you can see my 60 ft before and after the powerdyne is nearly identical. Theres just to much power going to that poor right tire. I spin off the line and then Ill sit there and spin once second hits as well. I am impressed with the powerdyne and truly feel that with stock rims and nittos I would see a 15 flat no problem. With a nice zexal torsen pulling a 2.1 60 ft versus my mt 2.3's and 4's ( from the one legger) I am very confident that my engine is capable of mid 14's. The POWERdyne is there. I just gotta get it to the ground. Never the less until I prove these theories here's the official numbers... Before powerdyne 16.142 @ 86.08 After powerdyne 15.391 @91.11 8 tenths so far. The next modd done will be to only put power to the ground to keep the before and after numbers as fair as possible. Thanks for your time and Ill post up better numbers for anyone who's thinking about the powerdyne but not sure if it's worh it or not. Laron G

Please stfu and keep your negative comments to yourself. If you actually read his post and know anything about drivetrain, when he gets and lsd and gears, he will be seeing mid to possibly low 14's. And as everyone already stated, he is in Hawaii.

On that note, Congrats on those numbers so far. Modifications usually run the best together with other mods, so in order to get the most from your Powerdyne, just follow it all the way down to the rear wheels. Once everything is working together, your times will greatly improve.

btw, what was your final lbs of boost you were running for the 15.391 @ 91.11? If I remember correctly from reading your previous posts, I believe the most you got from it was 7 psi? Were you ever able to get anything higher than that?

Thanks for keeping us posted on your major project.

i motion to have Swift_3800_F-Body banned.

                  any 2nd my motion?

dude back off.. he has put a lot of time and money in his car.. and trust me.. if he ran his car at a better track, in a better environment.. he'd be hitt'n low 14's easily with traction.

what are you runn'n Swift_3800_F-Body? lets see.. fairly stock a4 96 3.8.. i'd say since you dont know jack you'd prolly run a very high 15's if your lucky.. dumbass.

on a side note.. congrats on the numbers. with traction you'll definately been in the 14's.

                    i second this

also dumbass if anything he should have sprayed the car for the simple fact that nitrous runs good on cars even when its in the sumer heat and its hot all the time there

also when it cools down there you will see some better times too

98greenglow, how much are you retarding the trc1? I have mine set at 1 all the time. Also I agree on the weather, it's around 111 degrees here in AZ and I think it hit about 117 last week. You can feel the difference when the weather is hot or if there is high humidity outside.

Wow man that was pretty harsh and due to the fact that Ive invested a lot of time into this I would have probaly taking those as fighting words. Now all jokes aside I thnk everyone is intitled to there opinion. Never the less express your opinion in a positive way. Dont just say Your CAr Sucks. Instead say ... You should be pulling better times than that. Why dont you try this? It worked for me. See what I mean. Lets help eachother. As far as the 4 gand thing goes I only paid $2200 for it. I was running a consistent 5-7 lbs of boost. At the end of the night I cranked it down to 9 psi and that only made me spin worst resulting in a 15.8. As far as the nos goes my goal is to get my car's et as low as possible with the powerdyne. Hopefully a solid 14.5. Then I will throw a cam in and complete most other needed mods. Headers, computer programming...ECT. Then my last step will be nos. I hope to follow in Shirls foot steps. I dont expect to run 12.6 in my heavy car. But I beleave low 13's may be possible.

So what are you doing driving an F-body?

We should say constructive critism and not say something like this.

Climate is indeed a big factor. I live in S. Calif. which is a desert in my place and it gets to be up to 110 deg. Just this week it was 105 deg. I do feel my car sluggish during this summer time. But I was still able to nail a modded El Camino two days ago.

The track that they used in the movie "The Fast and The Furious," is close to where I live but that is a horrible track. Because LS1's are running low 14's instead of low and mid 13's.

I think Green can only improve from here on. With more practice, better weather, 15" wheels with racing tires and TC. He could get deep into 14 and even high 13.

Pretty soon Shirl and SuperV6bird would be joined by GreenGlow.
