My pyrometer has been going crazy every since I got my car back. The tact is all over the place. Can some one tell me exactly what is's for anyway? I beleave it is used to tell me how hot somthing is. Thats about all I know. I remember fixing it one time months ago by tightening my belt. Then it stayed exactly were it should be. Slowly warming up. But now even when I really tighten the belt it still jumps. Any suggestions? Oh one more thing... My altanator sounds like the bearings are pretty much gone from past overtightening. Could this be the reason for my pyrometer?

Pyrometer is just an EGT gauge isn't it? It probes into the exhaust near the manifolds and measures the exhaust gas temperature.AIM: escalier deverre
\'02 Pearl Blue Metallic RSX-S (daily driver)
\'98 Black Firebird
98 V6 turbocharged to 02 LS1 swap
\'02 LS1/4L60E
LS6 Block, LS6 Intake Manifold, Thunder Racing 215/220 .600/.523/115 Cam, Titanium Retainers, Crane Double Valve Springs, 125 shot NX Wet Kit w/ NOS brand Purge, True Dual \"H\" Pipe w/ two chambers and dumps, 17x11(rear) and 17x9.5(front) Black Powdercoated ZR1 Replicas on 315 and 275 BFGoodrich Comp T/A\'s (Street)/ET Drags/Skinnies on Weldlites(Track), 3.42/LSD

Besides the faulty ground, what else could be causing this? And why dose it matter if my belt is loose or not? When I first got the charger it was doing it and my mechanic told me to tighten the belt. Every thing worked fine. What dose the belt have to do with it???? Maybe since I have the supercharger if the belt is loose it will not turn the supercharger properly thus having the amount of air being forced into the engine and out the exhaust unequal at milliseconds cas some times its pumpin one amount of air and then the belt dosent catch and for that one moment the amount of air changes? Can someone explain to me if that makes since or Im way off?Powerdyne 98 a4 convert

stock 16.6 @ 86

6 lbs boost 15.1 @ 90

04 A4 2.73 geared white Corvette Coupe

stock- 13.5 @ 103

LS6 conversion-13.1 @ 107
http://members.cardomain.com/greenglow98 ( pics of intercooled powerdyne)
