  • Might be getting my vnt's back from the guy i sold them to!

Good news the guy i sold my vnt's to is thinking about selling his v6 mustang to get a new gt. This means if he does i will be able to get my turbos back. i have really regretted selling those things since i did it. So i will be going back with the twins if i get these back. Now for a question. I'm looking at running my pipes like they did on the incon setup through the suspension. Does anyone have a good clear pic of how they did this, the pics i have arent the clearest in the world. Also do you guys think i would loose much performance if i went with 2" pipe from the cold side of the turbo to the ic's and then y together to 3" and then to the intake or should i really run 2.5" to the ic's? I really hope this happens. Hope to get some pics and opinions on the pipe size.

    John.

On LS2.com in the forced induction section, EBoggs posted a ton of pics of his Incon setup. Also, he posted the installation instructions once.. do a search for his name in that section and you'll find them.

With only 3 cyls per side, a 2" pipe should be plenty.

If you're going to mimic anything about a different setup, Incon is definitely the best choice, IMO. I think those guys had it figured out pretty well.. it's too bad what happened to them.

just out of curiosity, what made you decide to sell the VNT-25s in the first place? Now why the decision to make a TT V6 FBod again?

well i was scraping for money and they were the most expensive thing i had that i didnt "need" so i had to let them go. Now that my income has increased alot and has become more steady i can afford to get everything back on track. And yeah incon was by far the best turbo system made for the v8. I forgot what happend to them buy i thought is was a financial problem. I hope this works as well as i think it will. He is deffinately selling the turbos to me now so its a go on this system... again.

The VNT is a variable nozzle turbo correct? What actuates the nozzle? The Chrysler's system was computer controlled. Will your setup essentially just use manifold pressure to actuate the vanes?

yeah vnt is a type of vatn tubo and yes im gonna have to run the vnt sytem off of mechanical pressure. i found a site a while back that explained how to do it without the computer. I still say that this is one of the best systems anyone can make for our cars. i do have to do some testing to see if i will need a wastegate or if the vnt will control itself enough to keep everything perfect. the other thing im going to be doing is putting on a thicker head gasket to bring my cr down to 9.1:1 allong with my abbott heads and intake. I might do a stage 2 turbo cam later on but i wont know till im done with everything else if i really want any more power. I'm pretty stoked about all this though.
