  • first boosted drive in my camaro

well, i finally took the turbo camaro on its first drive. all i can say is holy ****e!!!! for some reason i have a vacuum leak and the gauge still read 12psi. i am estimating that i was around 25+. once i fix the leak i will tell you a correct number. it scared the hell out of me when the boost came on cause i though i had theboost controller all the way open.oopps! i guess not.lol. the car ran great and there were no major problems too speak of. except the lower radiator hose blowing off. ill have pictures of the setup and hopefully a vid tonight or tommorow.
    boost, you got it???

my engine is far from stock. i run stock type hypereutectic pistons with hand made cumbustion chambers too lower the cr too 7.94-1. radical cam, sbc rods, race ported heads, and alot more. thing cost me a s#@tload too do but it was well worth it. it held up too a lean spike last night. boost=30 and fuel pressure=50. not good but it didnt knock :D . i will keep you all posted once i get that vids and pics.

The 60* 3x00 motors have the exact same rod as a SBC only the rod journal thickness needs to be cut down a little. One of the reasons why the stock rod is fairly strong to begin with.

no pressure on me really with getting good numbers. i just need too tune the car alot better. it is way too rich below 2500rpms. and last night i found out the hard way that my fans dont work and that there is a hole in the radiator. kinda got me pissed, but it will be taken care of today. new radiator and electric fan switch. :D
