• Another road trip

Drove down to Houston last Thursday to Tiago’s(1100 mile round trip). We finished up two more sets of GP pipes and test fit them on my car. We also made one master set so Tiago has something to go by since I can't drive my car down there every weekend. Tiago also got word from the shop today and they finished up 1 more set of pipes so those should be shipped out soon.

On the way down there my car got a new best of 29mpg(last best was 28). We did a little tuning on the car with HP tuners after putting some 36lb injectors in it. We did a really quick tune since we didn't have much time left after making the pipes. Pretty much just put 10 degrees of timing on it, so I can run 91 oct if needed, and added a little fuel. Ran it a few times and didn't get any knock so we called it good. After doing this I got about 25mpg on the way back. It isn't the best but I can live with it.

Car is even more of a blast to drive now. I thought it pulled hard before but now it pulls even harder and we didn't even raise the boost. I'm still running around 9psi, the same I was running on the way down to Houston.

I think you meant to say you pulled about 10 deg of timing no?

Yeah I meant to put pull instead of put

I'm sure we didn't need to pull that much but I wanted it to be a safe tune.

I used Patrick's HP tuners. Sorry but I don't know his screen name. You would have to get in touch with him to get the program. It was pretty straight forward though. Tiago changed some stuff like when the fans come on and raising the rev limiter etc. As for the tune part he just pulled 10deg of timing after 2800 rpm and added a little more fuel. Hope that helps.

I'll give everyone 15 back, I did it cause he was nice enough to drive down here to help people out on this board who were waiting on pipes. No worries I can see your position and I'll compensate you all for it.

                              Ross says:

David... don't you tell GNT66 to keep his nose out of other people's business that he has no part in? Why don't you follow your own advice. Patrick's HPTuners and all the people that went in on it are none of your concern... keep your nose out of places it doesn't belong.
