  • Buick T-Type Turbo?

Just wondering if anyone knows if the turbo off the old T-Types will work on my 97 v6. Anyone know? Thanks for your time.

      Yes, they will...

Technically *any* turbo will work on *any* car unless if the electronics for that turbo have been specifically designed for and are not seperate from the electronics on that car. Oh, and its gotta fit in the engine bay too.

And even in that case, the only electronics involved are the ones that control the Blow Off Valve, so if you could get another, you would be all set.

Same goes for a supercharger, just kits might make one more convinient to use over another.

The problem is routing exhaust gasses, etc.

Technically you can put any turbocharger on any engine. That is correct. The problem is the physical area to work with. You cannot bolt on the turbo kit out of a T-Type Buick. Our engine bays are restricted for space. Have you seen under the hoods of a GN? Those things could fit a small family under there with the engine. But you could use the actual turbo and then a custom kit with it to make it work. Maybe even some of the other parts...just not as a direct bolt-on.

I don't even think the electronics have to do with anything from the turbo kit. I don't think the electronics of the turbo interfere with any of the cars electronics. I think you just have to get your cars computer reprogrammed though to compensate for a fuel increase.
