Getting more grip Out of the Powerdyne's pulley...

some of you guys mentioned getting the pulley roughed up to reduce slipage...i was wondering how you guys would go about doing that....

also i was thinking if there is some type of substance/product out there that you can spray on the powerdyne pulley, maybe a hard type of tar or something, but it would have to be srong to handle the pressure of the belt going around over and over.....

just curious if anyone thought of anyhting like this...

I am working on a new design for the smooth pulleys which should reduce slippage considerably. It will be a permanent solution.

I still need to know the different diameters of your pulleys...
Whats the diameter of the 6#?
Whats the diameter of the 9#?

I have no idea about the diameter of the pulleys, maybe some of the more advanced ppl wil know....why, will you be constructing entirely new pulleys? and what do you plan on doing to them if you don't mind me asking.....

won't silicone tear off after its been run over so hard and fast by the belt? i think we need something like cement or something hard along those lines...

Get a Corvette belt, its couble serpitine..... or just get another belt to put atop of it, and use a belt grip agitive

if you rough up the pulley or such things, you will basically make a saw and cut your belt in half.

I had thought of using grip tape from my skater days on it but thought it would really destroy the belt badly. I could be wrong but just theory.

If you spray the belt with belt guard and the pulley it will probably help a lot. The belt is slipping and basically polishing the pulley making it slip even more and more. So simply put such spray on adhesive "belt guard" on the back side of the belt and be done with it.

You can easily refresh the spray when needed.

you need a belt that has ribs running across the belt instead of with the belt...maybe you can find somebody w/a CNC that knows how to work it well and they may be able to make you some pulleys, they you can go to a parts store adn have a belt special ordered????
