how are you planning on running the piping to the turbo btw?

that is another good choice. Basically you want somthing in the range of the last two you showed. This is where the real decision has to be made. where do you want your power to be made? how much of an unboosted range do you want for daily driving to keep your mileage up? How will you be configuring your setup, forward swept headers, or under the K-member like tiagos kit and teufels? this all comes into play when deciding on the right turbo for you. You should also take into account that since you are in california that you wont pass emissions inspections with a turbo system.

just thinking about this idea, I have access to some of the tools for the custom fab needed to make this setup work, steel, Mig Welder, Plasma Cutter and so on.

If I do this setup, I will make it fit just after where the headers meet, tight space but that woud be great for the exhaust rerouting that would need to be done.

not a good place to put the tubro imo. For one you will need to buy a scavange pump to get the oil from the turbo to the oilpan. also since our cars are so low (even if you dont lower it) you would run the risk of it hitting on a speed bump. the reason CM boyd can get away with his remote mount turbo is it is so small his ground clearance doesnt seem to be too bad. If you want to run it in the back of the engine you would be better off with a twin turbo setup and attach the turbos up in the space right behind the exhaust manifolds where there is some more room for ground clearance. since with twins the turbos are smaller this would allow them to be mounted here but you would still need the scavange pump (i would suggest the mocal pump). then you could look at running it incon syle like me or you could look at teufels setup and run it up by the engine where he ran his exhaust. you also need to think of where you are running the intake to feed the turbo/turbos. i suggest you fab this out with pvc or something to make sure you have all the bugs worked out before you go through the trouble of welding it.
