  • GREDDY E-MANAGE SYSTEM

I'm considering a turbo system for my 2000 camaro, what I would like to know is if I used this GREDDY E-MANAGE SYSTEM and larger injectors, what that be enough fuel to run a turbo up to 12psi on a stock engine with a intercooler in the loop. The fmu looks outdated and barely does its job. If tuned could the stock fuel pump with larger injectors and GREDDY E-MANAGE SYSTEM w/intercooler work? Any other changes needs besides a turbo, wastegate/bov tubing, boost gage?

Keep in mind that I am looking for a max output of 400hp at the crank, will aim for 350hp. No more than 12psi

the last turbo is a bit small but the rest should be ok. dont worry about running the greddy e-manage, just get a cartech adjustable fmu. you probably wont need new injectors but a new fuel pump might be a good idea (walbro 255). also you dont need to run 12psi to get 350 crank hp (are you sure you dont want break hp?). I would also recomend going with a better brand like garrett as i havent really heard much about the turbo brand you are looking into.

If you have the money HPtuners is the only way to go. I run that, 43lb injectors, and nothing else. Car gets better gas mileage than it did stock.

yeah, that is the right way to do it but the easy/cheap way is with the fmu (i will be going the programmer/injector/f-pump rout).

Mimicing what has already been said, You do not need the greedy e-manager. Larger injectors and a new intake pump is the way to go. You can also get a high preasure inline pump but it will not be as good as getting the intank pump, just easier to install. To get to 400HP you'll need tuning software. The PSI needed to hit your mark will depend on the size of the turbo you decide to get.

            Edit: fixed intank (thanks T-punk)

Linxs i think you meant to wright intank not intake pump. but yes that is the better way to go for performance and for less noise (god the inline ones are loud as feck).

If I get the intank pump, and the larger injectors, would I still need a fmu? I kinda like the GREDDY E-MANAGE SYSTEM or the hp tuners if it is easy to use also. I don't want to modify the fuel system besides injectors and maybe the pump. What is the avg max hp the stock pump can take?

Oh btw all of the smog equipment needs to stay on the car, if there is a electronics way to increase fuel with the injectors with one of my options and leave the smog system the way it is that would be great. Cat, o2 sensors, maf, and egr need to be untouched.

Then you can not use a turbo as large as mine (well I supose you could but you would not be able to use it to it's fullest capabilities). Leaving the smog equip. is not a big deal. If you are adding a turbo, you'll need to add either an inline high preasure pump or an intank pump, this is a must.

Once you upgrade the injectors, you elimintate the need for an FMU. an FMU just increases line pressure as boost increases. Alot of guys use them for a while until they can save up the money to upgrade away from it. Hell, tuning software alone is twice as much as some of the more expensive FMUs out there. They work well, it just depends on how you want to go about things. My Procharger adjustable FMU is for sale for $100, should you decide to go that route.

It's not known exactly how far the stock pump will go.. ZZPerformance claims they got ~380fwhp out of an N/A Monte Carlo with the stocker.. but at the same time, the only guy i know of who blew up their stock motor was trying to boost it with the stock pump. Either way, i'd definitely get a Walbro, because they build volume as they build pressure. The key to any FI vehicle is fuel delivery.

Ok, first i see you are in california. I think I asked this before but i need to get some things straigt.
                          1. Are you going to try to pass smog with the turbo?
                          2. If so you should just stop now, you cant pass smog in cali with a turbo (you will fail the Visual inspection)
                          3. if you want to run a turbo in cali you should ask they guys over at 3800performance when their kit will be done and if it will pass smog where you live.
                          4. if that doesnt work out the only other FI option for you is the powerdyne supercharger kit because it is smog approved or something like that.
                          5. if you arent trying to pass smog then ditch all the smog ****, it sucks the horsepower out of your car.
Hope this was a little helpful.

As long as you don't run an FMU, there is no reason to buy a new fuelpump. With bigger injectors, it doesn't put much dtrain on the fuelpump. The fmu kills the stocker becuase to jacks the pressure so high.

a new pump still isnt a bad idea though.
