I'm completely retarded when it comes to the details of a turbo set-up. I puchased a turbo that was recently rebuilt and a used BOV and wastegate. How do I adjust the boost so the first time I fire the car up it's not blowing any higher than the 6lbs that I want. My luck, it'll be set for around a full bar and then welcoming my worst nightmare of detonating the heck out of my engine. I'm guessing that starting from the bottom adjustment and working my way up is the way to go, but how do I do that. I bought an HKS sequential BOV...if that helps in telling me how stupid I am. Thanks

if its internal wastegate it depends on the spring rate of it....just hook a vacuum line from the wastegate can to a nipple on the turbo for wastegate pressure....then later add a boost controler in that same vacuum line to make the boost higherPast Ride

Right. You can boost as low as the stock gate goes, likely 6 psi or so. If you're really afraid, just unhook the pressure-side tubing.
Later, you can build a manual boost controller for about $10 in parts, or order one for about $50 to $100.

What is your gauge reading? My BOV is kicking
in pretty hard at only 3psi. The turbo is spooling rather well. Are you still having problems with building boost? Also the integral
wastegate actuator can be calibrated by unscrewing
the bar and tightening the locknut so that when you reinstall it the wastegate is partially open.
This limits boost.

Hope it works good for you. I found to vacuum leak and now the car is hitting boost like crazy
at 2000 rpm. I still have to get the tuning complete before I go to all out full throttle.
Please keep me posted on your progress. I have
some more ideas in mind about the remote style
that are feasible.
