• NOS and Turbo 3.4

could you turbo charge and spray a 3.4? The engine will be rebuilt with forged pistons, new valve components, aarp head studs, and the best of everything else. I want to have it at 6-9 psi without an intercooler and 75 to 100 shot nos. What specs do I want for a custom cam grind to run both? What problems am I going to face? I'm determined to make this happen, if you can supercharge and spray why couldn't you turbo and spray.

yea its possible you just gotta figure out how to do it is all.

i dunno what all reasearch youve done yet on the subject but that one isnt gonna be an easy task

i dont kno much but for what you want id suggest Fast or dfi fuel management system, definately forged low compression internals, an engine girdle, and another 3.4l just in case

dude you need to intercool with that type of a system or you will deffinately run hot and risk detination, and detination is not your friend!

talked to someone at garret and the intercooler is not needed as long as I stay below 9psi, at 9psi the air going into the intake is only at 190 degrees which is well within the range to run without an intercooler and I am prolly going to keep it at 6psi as long as I get the NOS to work right, I going to lose some power without it but it will make setting it up alot easier.

why the hell would you waste your time rebuilding and all to only run 8 psi? rebuidl it for at least 15-20 psi INTERCOOLED

then throw the 100 shot on top

              do things right.

Thats the way I want to but I didn't think the engine, even rebuilt, could handle that. But hell there is only one way to find out. Do you have any idea how much power a setup like that is going to put to down?

I am going to p&p the upper and lower intake, p&p-3 angle valve job-and comp cams valvetrain package on the heads, Ross forged pistons, Ross wrist pins, ARP rod bolts, ARP high performance head studs, mellings high flow oil pump, shot peen the rods, SPEC stage 3 clutch, LT1 throttle body, and the best gaskets I can get. I want a cam but don't know to what specs I should have ground and I can't find an engine girdle for the 3.4. Anything I'm forgetting?

i just dont see why you would want to run without an intercooler. i mean, obviously, youre putting mad cash down for your internal work trying to get it so your engine is pretty much bullet proof, then adding turbo and nitrous. not intercooling it is almost ignorant because it would just make the set-up more effecient. i mean think about it, it sounds like your on the right track on your motor, but mod wise, i think you should go intercooled. i want to do the same thing... built motor, turbocharge it (with tiago's kit... which comes with an intercooler keep in mind ;) ) then run a 50-75 shot on nitrous.

I'm a certified weld so all the welding on the pipes and the throttle body is a drop in the bucket when you practice on 2inch thick v-grove welds and then have them tested and x-rayed for inclusions stuff like this is childs play.
