  • A little more lag

Ok, I took the car back to the shop to find out why my boost was coming on a little later than usual. Had discovered a hole in one of the cheap
connectors I used on the intake tube. I replaced it with a gorilla thick rubber intake hump hose
reducer that will not burst. I tightened up every clamp in the intake system in the engine bay. I am going to get the car on a lift and get the ones underneath again. My question is if turbos will gain lag over a period of time. I am seeing full boost ok, and I hear the turbo spooling like crazy. I am just not getting the "off the line" acceleration like before unless I totally punch it. Maybe my tuning needs a little tweaking because I know that with a 10 to 1 ration FMU and 14% increase set on the MAF translator that it is overly rich. The timing is reduced to -8 degrees too. Any other suggestions
before I begin troubleshooting once again?

Watch your boost gauge -- I'd say that you're making "more pressure" but not always over the 0 mark under part throttle -- what I seemed to notice when I had my turbo.

It was the timing. I had set the Translator too high and did not realize it was wrong. Thanks!

I will email the pictures to you. If you want to know more about the remote style of turbocharing then just look at the www.ststurbo.com website. I made a custom unit, and got some support and alot of flame here on this site. My posts are in the last 60 to 100 day files. Plenty of stuff for you to read.
