• Aussie RWD L67 in an F-body?

I ahve heard there are some differences and this might possibly be a better setup then a GTP in a 3.8L...

Not saying it works not saying it doesn't but asked a local guy that runs Modern American Sports Car www.masc.com he has dealt with some australian contacts contacts for mods for the monaro, and looking to bring them over for the GTO.

We have all heard the rumors that he RWD L67 roots blower is shorter and better fitting then a typical FWD blower here in the U.S.

I started a thread awhile ago, now we are talking again... Feel free to add any imput, he doesn't know the 3.8L too well but he does know his cars well... I am no expert so some help please...

Please don't blab that it won't work unless you have solid proof that wer are overlooking(yes we all know about firewall issues)

yeah i have heard that it fits, but good luck with a low price, its expensive to import those holden parts. but if you get it and it fits try to fit the intercooler found in this link on there too.

i think it might fit if you get there fuel rails also, but im not sure because it would be pretty tall. good luck though.

Eric, isn't this what ...umm ... Silver3800KY or someone was trying to do? Bolt on a $250 toyota supercharger from australia to his 3.8L? (not holden, but a shorter one) Seems like nothing ever came of it.

No I am talking GM holden style supercharger, migh be the same supercharger...

Jsut seeing if it will work, its basically a GTP motor in a RWD car, has a slightly different suypercharger then the GTP here.... We are just looking at the differences and looking at import costs. I know its expensive but like I said this guy deals with aussie parts , and gets shipments has a few connections... might be able to get it chepaer.

its an m90 but it has a different intake than the U.S. version, its like a 90 degree turn wich puts it on the side instead of into the firewall. this will work from what i have heard but im not sure. if you can get it cheap let me know cause it would be a pretty cool setup.

damn, blast from the past... we are talking over 2 years ago!

hehe actually took my car down to his shop we looked some things over and he is thinking he is not gonna worry about it I agree with him... v6 aftermarket is not that huge, his business is just starting off, not really out and going yet. So he is not willing ot take the risk. We agreed its risky even for v8 guys to want to go out and swap their heads, fuel rails and intake manifolds on top fo getting a supercharger.

But their are still options, and Holdens have it half engineered for us.

im sure it could be made be more efficient with a smaller pully. its not too good now but its also half the price of a centrifugal setup. I dont think the intercooler can be made to fit on our engines without some majoy mods to the coul though so it will never be a "Great" setup.

Sent the rodshop an e-mail, here's the response:

The kits we make bolt straight onto the Holden manifolds. One kit suits the motor with the rear intake position and the other suits the centre air intake position. Both kits are totally complete and cost $1800.00.
                            Regards
                            Rod

sent him another message, should be a couple before response.
