• Question about supercharger for V6 1998 model

Hello

I have some question about supercharger. I searched topics but can not find(resolve) my question. plz help..

I have CAMARO V6-3.8l 1998 model. My car does not have traction control system(TCS) switch. I think that my car is model-1998 before the 10th month of 1998. Is that right?

If it is right, i can choose this charger.

http://www.rksport.com/product/p_010910283/view_detail

Is there any other good charger for my V6?
Do i need other mod to use charger?(plug, thermostat , fuel-injecter, ECU re-programing etc..)

Sorry but i'm not good at english

That supercharger will work for your car. It will run on your car just fine, change the plugs NGK TR6s and that would be it for the 6 psi kit you are looking at from RKSport.

There are a few mods you will want to do to make the supercharger perform better and also to make your engine ready for a super charger.

1: the NGK TR6 spark plugs gapped to .035"

2: To reduce belt slippage...do the John_D Power_Wrap. http://community.webshots.com/album/71419072LqmYdc

3: To prevent/reduce pressure in the crankcase due to Forced Induction suggest performing one of the PCV mods. http://home.comcast.net/~grayman99/TB-PCV.htm

4: Along with blocking the PCV you will also need a valve cover breather. Suggest a threaded breather. http://www.zzperformance.com/products1.php?id=95

%: You should plan on installing at least a Fuel Pressure gauge. Stock fuel pressure should be 48-53 psi. The FMU that comes with the supercharger kit will 'turn on' when the car is under boost. At that time your fuel pressure should be about 67-76 psi. If you do not feed enough fuel to the enging under boost....BOOM! With a fuel pressure gauge you will be able to monitor how well the fuel system and the FMU are working. http://home.comcast.net/~grayman99/GaugeInstalls.htm

6: Get the MCAANDA instructions. They have much better picture quality than the instructions that will come with your kit and also more detailed instruction. http://home.comcast.net/~grayman99/MCAANDA-page.htm (get my mcaanda addendum while you are there...it clears up a couple of misleading or left out details)

Good luck, keep us posted. G

Oh, yea, plan on using premium fuel...92 octane or higher.
