Beta tester takes car to dyno.....

I dropped the car off at the mechanic to have him put in the MSD and take the car to his place that he gets the dyno's done.

First, the MSD has fixed the problems with the spark, so the car runs strong.

Second, something must have went wrong when Mach programmed my computer, because the car hit the limiter at 4400 RPMs. I am guessing this has something to do with the 3.73 gears.

I have yet to see the graph, or even drive the car. My mom just got held up at gun-point at BJ's a few hours ago, so I am a little stressed out right now. When I get the graph and some more info I will post it.

If anyone has any input on the limiter, or why this happened, let me know.

Is your mom ok? Did they rob her or what? Steal the car? That is pretty crazy... my friend got kidnapped at gun point, some guy made my friend drive him around all day, then take him to Long John Silvers and wouldn't let him pay for food... crazy guy.

I have the same problem with my car on the dyno. I went from 3.08's to 3.42's and my car wont go pass 4800 rpm's in third gear. It's very important for us supercharged guys to reach are redline in third gear or our numbers will be screwed.

Our max boost wont come till max rpm. As well as the rpm's having alot to do with power weather your supercharged or not.

On my dyno I cant get pass 5 psi in third gear because I cant go pass 4800 rpm's and 95 mph without hitting the stupid speed limiter. This resulted in a crappy 207 rwhp.

The only option till you get this takin care of is to dyno in second gear where you should be able to reach redline.

The problem with this is your numbers will be lower than they would have been if you had dynoed in third. Buy still better at 6000rpm in second gear than only 4400 rpm in third.

With my second gear dyno going up to 5500 rpm and at 7 pounds I pulled a 217 rwhp. It probaly would have been more like 230 rwhp if I were in third gear but HEY, it's better than a low boost, low rpm third till I get it fixed.

Well hopefully your numbers will still be decent. Just remember that you can only go up. You still got a hole nother 1600 rpms and probaly some more boost to play with depending on how much boost you can generate in third with only 4400 rpm's. I could probaly only get 4 pounds at 4400 rpm's.

If the computer is sent into Mach, can they program the computer to "forget" about the limiter or something. I have to send it to them anyway, so they can fix teh 3.73 gears, and air/fuel mixture. They are not charging me anything for this.

They should be able to remove the speed limiter, or set it to some high value like 255mph.

I know how frustrating it can be to have your supercharger not performing at it's potential do to rpms and speed limiter.

Sorry to hear about your mom, some people just don't have a clue. Hopefully they can catch the moron that pulled a stunt like that.

Call Colleen or Bill and send your computer back to them. Their programmer forgot to change my gear ratio so I had to send mine back. I topped out 4th gear on my last dyno so I know they can remove the top speed limiter.

OR if you want the dyno results now have the dyno guy unplug your sending unit in the tailshaft of the tranny AND also pull the sensor plug on top of the rearend. This will eliminate the operation of the speedo and allow you to hit redline. (assuming it's a speed problem)

Yes, I have reached redline in 3rd, but have never pushed it that far on the street in 4th.

I have the dyno graph, but the lines are so faint it bairly came out.

1st pull = 192.5 RWHP and 474.9 RWTQ
2nd pull = 188.2 RWHP and 237.0 RWTQ

It looks like it cut off around 4200 RPMS.

The weird thing with the graph is that it goes straight up at 2K RPMS, and then drops at 2800 (to 0 ), then climbs after that. Can anyone explain this?

I also drove the car for the first time today, and the car doesn't feel very smooth up top.

Also, the boost gauge will not go into vacuum. At idle it sits at 0, and goes up to 6-7 PSI around 1500 RPM's. Can someone explain this. Are there wires crossed or something.

I sent an email to mach yesterday telling them we would contact them today. Contacted them today within business hours and left a message. So I am still waiting for a call back from them.

Overall I am confused and dissapointed. Hopefully this gets better. :(

I hope those HP numbers are a typo or something, cuz you should be easily over 200 and pushing 300 hp at least with the SC.
