  • Need physical turbo dimensions...

OK finals are over and I can go to working a relaxing 40 hour work week.

What that means is I now have the time to start designing the more in depth parts of my custom turbo setup.

I need to make sure I can actually mount a turbo in the spaces at the rear of the engine along with how it will fit. For that I need actual physical turbo dimensions. AR gives me a rough idea of size but I need accurate dimensions.

    I need

A: Diameter of both exhaust and compressor housings
B: Overall length of the assembly from exhaust side to compressor side
C: Length of both the exhaust and intake elbow as measured from the center of of the housings.

I've searched all around the net but the only info I can find is AR.

If those with turbo's could provide this information for their particular turbo (ie if someone has a T04 and it will fit then I could fit a T3) it would be very helpful.

Or if someone could point me to the right place to find this info I would be greatly appreciated.

Also those with garrett turbos, are the internal wastegates adjustable or are they fixed?

This will give you dimensions on turbonectic turbos, like the t-3's and t-4's with differetn comp/turb combos

Thanks, thats exactly what I needed. I can really get to work now.

I wish I had a CAD file of the engine compartment. If I had that I could design everything before I ever start putting anything to metal.

it wont fit back there, do the single setup and bring it in front of the engine, or, pay a TON of mula for custom bent headers ect
        good luck

I have some fabrication ability myself(limited to flanges and such) and and friend who is a full fledged machinist(and a d*mn good one at that). I think between the two of us we can make custom headers and tubing to run things from the rear. I just don't want the front of my engine compartment cluttered up.

I also have a source for tubing that is cheap, both stainless and standard, and a pile of scrap steel at my grandfather's house for making brackets and such. Not to mention access to several full machine shops.

There's gonna be very little stuff of that nature that I have to buy.

I've got the hookup for this sort of thing. :D
