  • How many $$$ for dyno time?

Ok, The car is at a pretty solid stage now. No other major mods planned for the near future. (other than 9lbs later in year or next, and better 3" discharge tubing)

I have not called around to local speed shops yet. I am hoping to get some feedback from ya'll first.

I don't plan on dyno pcm tuning time...that is dollars...and digital tuneing software is still in the works. (income tax refund)

I would like to do a few pulls on a dyno for some basic hp and torque specs, though.

It seems like I have a somewhat particular set up...1.9 rocker valvetrain... vs. stock or cam S/C crowd.

Anyone have idea on how much some basic dyno time should cost? (not dyno tuneing) just some pulls.

I did mine 2 weeks ago, it was $60.00 for 2 pulls. I would call around, the first place I called was 100.00 for 2 pulls and there was a import place that wanted 150.00 for 2 pulls.

Check around with some local clubs, maybe you can get a group dyno day going. I hear about that a lot where places will go down to like $50 / 3 pulls if you can get a semi-decent group to show up for them for a dyno day

I wouldnt waste the money dynoing that piece in your sig.

              LOL

We had a guy up here pay 150 for the dyno for I think 3 hours. Not too bad. Unlimited runs in that time frame. Good way to dynotune a PCM.

$60 for 2 pulls in about the average price. I wouldn't pay much over $60

I was thinking 10 minutes after tied down at the most for a couple of pulls.

It took about 30 min. for 2 pulls on mine. Thats hooking it up and me reflashing it in between runs.

That seems kinda high?? How long does it take to flash the PCM?? I thought you could do partial flashes as well. Figure 7-8 runs in an hour would be good.

*Edit* I forget about calibration time. Is navigating the HPT easy?? Figure total of 5 minutes to change and flash the PCM.

It took him about 10-15 minutes to hook it up and explain what to do and what not to do, since it was my first time at the dyno. But no matter if it was 20 minutes it still would of been $60.00. They charged by how many runs and not by time.

It's cheaper if you pay by the hour if you are wanting to tune. It's around $70-90 for an hour here. You guys seem to be paying a lot. It's around $45 for 3 pulls with a/f here.
