Myself and a couple of others are currently designing turbo setups for the 3.4L.
I don't know what any of the others are going to do but when I finish mine (looking like late Oct./early Nov. at the earliest but more likely Dec. and quite possibly longer) I'm going to CAD it out, draw up schematics and make it available as a complete set of plans for download.
I'm going to do the best job I can at designing a setup that provides good, reliable power.
I'm currently at the stage of running calculations against compressor maps to determine what turbo will work well with our engine with 8psi of boost.
I've been riding around the last few days watching my Tachometer to see what common acceleration and cruising revs are. I'm going to try and design my setup to start delivering maximum boost at 2750rpms (about half of redline) and remain fairly efficient up to 4500-5000rpms.
The boost at lower revs should be somewhat less and allow fairly decent fuel economy.
So far I'm thinking almost any turbo with a T04E compressor will work very well.
I want to run the numbers against a CT-26 of a Toyota Supra if I can ever find a compressor map too.
My calculations show that 8PSI should bring around 240HP.
I hope that tells you where things are at and that there is some hope for the 3.4L.
240 at the wheels also if there is anything i can due to help let me know. What are the problems you seem to be running into. Also what will be needed brackets, is the turbo self contained or will there need to be a seperate oil line

240 flywheel. I havn't bothered to calculate it with standard drivetrain loss. Assume a 10-15% loss.
Right now I'm really just starting so I havn't had any problems.
I have to pick the right turbo and get it before I can determine how it will mount. There will most probably be seperate oil and water lines. The water cooled turbos supposedly have much greater durability than those that are only oil cooled. If I can find a self contained turbo that will work well and won't add a lot to my total cost I may go with it.
The only self contained turbo I've seen(no oil or water lines) is a small one made by Aerocharger in kit for a Miata. Is only doesn't have an oil line going to it because it has oil inside it already that lubricates it. This is nice since you don't have to worry about the gravity feed oil drain line. But I still like a supply of oil going to the turbo continously so I can monitor the temp, as well as water cooling lines.
Find a CT-26 compressor map and that would help me a lot. If it will work I have a place I can get one for next to nothing and I can get to work designing manifolds and tubing. Otherwise I have to wait till I get enough money for a turbo.
i'll get on it tongiht and see what i can do what is it you need to know exactly. Also whats the chances when your done if i pay you to help build me the proper mounting brackets and stuff I do know it works well with the TO4E compressor and can be found on alot of old supras.

I'm sorry but most probably not. Its gonna be a stretch to get mine on because I'm depending on friends for fabrication help and access to machine shops.
Like I said I'm gonna have schematics plotted out. You should be able to take them to any competent machine shop and the shop should be able to put everything together for a reasonable price. In my past experience as long as the shop doesn't have to do any design work, you can get things built for a reasonable price.
I wish I could find someone interesting in producing a kit when I'm done but it would be a hard sell considering how few 3.4 F-bodies there are and how many fewer actually want more performance.

I don't really know. I'd have to see a compressor map. I'm thinking they might be too big for what I'm attempting.
My calculations show that anything with a T04E compressor will work very well with our engines to develop 8psi about 2750 rpms. The T04E will keep efficiency above 70% for acceleration and above 65% for any cruising situation at lower than maximum boost.

I'm not really setting a maximum amount or anything. I'm just going to design and build as I get the money.
To finance my project I think I'm gonna by the Supra from the junkyard that has the CT-26 on it and part it out. A friend of mine said they only want $100 for the whole car.
I would say as a minimum it is going to cost $1300 and quite possibly more.
About a week ago noticed my brake lights not working also Hazards not working. Installed new brake switch and still not working, checked fuses and what...
