• 3.4L Turbo kit dyno sheet

http://www.forcefedfab.com/images/340400dyno.jpg

336/400 rw hp/tq

15 psi, race gas, intercooler spray(debatable effects, IMO little to none).

turbo hp output was maxed out on this run.

I think the stock cam cause the tq to drop off prematurely. But the hp stayed at the 300+ rw level from 4200 rpms (when it reached full boost)till we shut down at almost 6000 rpm

it was at 330+ rwhp for 1000 rpm

I think the turbo was lagging more then normal, no load when dynoing.

Note: this is not the kit turbo my turbo has a smaller compressor wheel/housing and it is a to4b, not hybrid (lags more).

bet you could pick up 30-65 more HP with a nice cam on your 3.4!

when you say "hybrid" what does that mean?

the t3/t4 hybrid turbocharger probably. imho that is the best choice for a turbo on our cars, just seems the right size. nice run though on the 3.4. i agree that a cam would help out a lot.

Tiago's engine is a stock bottom end only. The heads and intake are ported about as much as you can port 3.4 heads, and the intake has a LT1 throttle body on it, and it has 1.6 full roller rockers. The cam is stock.

That's really the reason this engine saw that much power though I think. With a stock headed 3.4 you're probably not going to see that much even with the t3/t4, unless you do some improvements like Tiago has done. But I think the t3/t4 is still a better match than his particular compressor, like he said. I'll be seeing shortly how well a t3/to4e does on the stock 3.4 though(except I have a LT1 throttle body which doesn't do a whole lot of good since I have stock heads)...hopefully mine along with a new intercooler will come in by spring break so I can put it on then in place of my current small turbo and intercooler... the blarger turbo will more then make up for the lack of the mods tiago has. that lil t3/t4 is way too small for his motor and it is running out of steam fast. i bet that car would make 400hp too the wheels with a straight t4 60-1.
boost, you got it???

Tiago,

I want to get your kit... however....

I cannot use the exhaust or intake piping. I would have to custom fab these to the miata and I also have my own intercooler.

Actually, I am not sure what EXACTLY I can use from your kit? hehe...

Your turbo kit has an internal or external waste gate? Thanks...

BTW, I'm very impressed with the numbers of a stock bottom end and some basic bolt ons. Great job Tiago.

Kerist

Ok Guys,
I have not been online for awile and this is blowing me away. I didnt know anyone was selling a turbo kit for the 3.4. Who is selling them? How much are they? What is included in the kit and is it a bolt on kit or are there any custom modifications to be made. If so, what are they????? My 3.4 is completely stock (with 140,000 miles) What kind of HP gain should I expect from this kit?
