  • How much would supercharging a 3.8l pull?

Just wondering how much of a difference in horsies and acceleration it would make to supercharge a 3.8l camaro ?

well super chargers have put down some good number and so have turbo cars..... stock you at ~160 Rear Wheel Horse Power..... adding one of these can get you from ~220- to ??????? HP know one has maxed out the motor yet,,,, but a average bolt on kit will net 60-150 RWHP, high side is with supporting mods and tunning

SC is easier than a custom turbo. Both have a big bnifit as power adders, though, as they do not typically reduce gas mileage.

I think about the biggest, baddest powerdyne fbody 'round here right now is SSM. He has a pretty built system and is runing about 10 psi and pulling amost 290 hp at the wheels.

some of the custom turbo crowd are breaking into 300 plus...and then some.

oh, to answer your question...a properly installed and good working 6psi system is a totally different car. It might not be worth 4000 bucks PLUS to get a new kit (and all the other mods to go with it) if all you wanted was power. in that case....v8.
