You're going to want to tap into an 02 sensor before the cat, the one after just measures emissions. As for the wire
You want to know what\'s on my car? Tough luck!

4-wire O2 sensors generally use the white wire as a data wire.

I've done this and it is the purple wire.
But, you can end up getting a check engine code, low voltage to that particular O2 sensor.
Just buy the autometer weld in bung kit for the a/f ratio guage
Avoid the headaches that I experienced

Read strange_trp's answer to this question, the best interpretation to do not introduce resistance is don't cut and splice the wires, just use an exacto knife and remove the insulation and wrap the a/f wire around the wire going to the pcm. If you are careful you won't get an SES light

btw the benefit of tapping at the pcm is you get the cumulative reading of all 4 o2's instead of just one.
