Got smart, installed my fmu today

Back from the track... I hoped for a mid 14. I got a 14.1 @ 99.8 so I was happy.

This is on street tires, 18" at that... [img]smile.gif[/img]

I ran out of time this morning, so the drag radials didn't get put on. If I'd know it would be so close to a 13 second slip, I probably would have changed the tires after all.

On the subject of street tires, I did drop .1 second off my 60' time when I dropped the tire pressure from 32 to 28.

And that reminds me, I was running a little rich at the start of each gear, and a little lean at the end of each gear. I noticed I was hitting 13psi of boost at the top of 2nd. No wonder the injectors weren't keeping up. :D

If I was going to keep racing this setup, I would think about putting a bov set at 11psi on it.

Oh yeah, forgot this part. My best na time is 15.43 and the best blower time is 14.10 so the blower is good for 1.33 seconds with my setup.

Maybe it's a good thing I ran the 18's after all, since that's what I used when I got the 15.4 na, and that makes the comparison more equal.

Kool....We both dropped exactly 1.3 seconds...just so hapens your NA was a hole second quicker than mine. We were both on 18's too...He he

What were the specifics on your time slip?

See how far off your dyno was.........No way only 220 rwhp with the exhaust hooked up would land you a 14.1 on 18's......Stock LT1's run 14.1's and Im sure they dyno with a lot more than 220 rwhp.

You gotta be having ATLEASTE 250 at the wheels now since you fixed the fuel issue.

I still cant get over 13 psi though. Makes since...I was able to run 9 pounds on my 6 pound pully for months.So I guess it's kinda the same.

You are defiently right about running lean on top. If you had the fuel perfectly you would have close to a 100 percent power increase with 13 pounds.

Still though, 14.1 on 18's is INSANE!!!!!

It held 80 psi consistently.

Yeah, the dyno run is definitely misleading, because I was so lean. Putting the fmu on there made a HUGE difference.

I'm intrigued with this thing you've setup on yours to make it vary the fuel pressure. Although I thought the fmu was supposed to do that anyway... Maybe I need a different calibration kit on it or something.

After analyzing my autotap logs, I discovered why it's going lean on top. The pcm is dropping my injector pulsewidths from 20ms to 17.5ms as I go from 5000-5800 rpms... Strange.... I think this is a side effect of running no maf.

i thinkk the MAF might be toping out in the fq. look at the frequncy on you MAF in auto tap what was it ?

Probaly just as well....Even though I think I got the fuel right Im just gonna sit there and spin with the rubberband 18's and open rear. Hell...I even spin when second gear hits....Not just first...

Im just gonna go dyno.....I already no that 7 pounds running 14:1 is good for 217 rwhp on my car. Now I want to see what an intercooled 8-10 pounds can do...Especialy if the fuel is right.

Even the 217 I pulled with only 7 pounds before I intercooled should be good for 14's....I just gotta get the power to the ground.

I gotta tell you john....I was really close to putting my powerdyne on ebay. Im SURE someone would buy it when I would be telling them how I dropped 1.3 seconds.......got a 10 pound grooved pully.......Im including a complete rebuild kit......and a custom intercooler ststem....I was gonna let all that go for 3 grand.....Someone defiently would have got it for that price when they saw how much a new one cost..


BUT YOU HAVE REMOTIVATED ME.....THANKS. Ive ust otta stop doing all this crazy stuff and take care of my traction...Weve pretty much got the same exact set up....The only differance is you have posi from what I see....
