I think my internal belt snapped on the powerdyne. I was driving home about a hour ago and went to punch it and no boost. Everything is running fine, car drives normal, and no air leaks. It just doesn't have any boost. Also no whine from the supercharger. I have a spare internal belt here, I was just wondering if anyone has replaced one before and could give me any tips on chaging it. Thanks Steve

That seems like a belt alright. I've opened up a head unit. It's an easy fix.
1. Remove pulley and spay WD40 around the cylinder at the base plate.
2. Unscrew headunit with hex.
3. Use rubber mallet and tap around the mating plates. If not use a small ply wood and place it against a the mating plates and hammer it.
4. Pull straight up.
5. There would a ness like rubber debris inside. Clean it thoroughly and remove the old belt. Slip in the new belt.
6. Check the two bearings that's visible. Run your finger around it. If there's a goo like or puss on them, then that means they are starting to run dry and may need to be replaced right away.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, the belt was tore to pieces. I also had to take the smaller bearing out to replace the belt. No biggie, just needed a puller to get it off. The bearings looked good for being 3 years old. I should have it back on later on today.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

Wow, Grayman. Thank You. But I did left out the small bearing at the bottom portion of the blower that needs to be remove so that the old belt can go and the new one in....sorry.
But you know, you're the one that's doing a great job. I think you should be a third moderator here.

Hey MT, (and smss...cause your doing it right now) I think i see the small bearing you are talking about. in this pic... http://home.comcast.net/~grayman99/p...evlar-belt.htm
the pic of the open powerdyne...there is a small bearing that rides on top of the smaller cog. what is involved in pulling that bearing? is it pressed in? do you need a gear puller to get it out and does it need to be properly pressed in or is it 'something easy.' with no special tools required? TIA.
thanks guys. g

For the small bearing I just used A pulley puller( from checker, same one I use to change different pulley sizes), came off pretty easy. All you have to do is line it up under the little washer covering and pulley it away. Then putting it back on was the same. I hammered then washer back down good and tight then lined up the bearing and used a socket, lined up over the sleeve and tapped it back down.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake
