About superchargers

I would like to know from those who have them,

-What kind of times are you getting? (1/4 mile)
-Did you install it yourself? and how difficult was it?
-Have you had any problems?
-Which one do you have? or recommend (FTForce?)

I am debating whether to get it with some money I will have coming in (cross fingers). Or if I should just wait and get a V8 in the future.

Well if you get the powerdyn unit Which gives you 8-9 pounds of boost would put you with a stock 3.8 at 14.2-14.0.. I would drop the compression, forged bottom end, port the heads and intake, headers and full 2.5-3.0 inch exaust, and put a procharger with intercooler and run 15 pounds of boost.. that should get you into the mid to high 12's.. Or like you said get a v8.. On my car I choose Nitrous oxide..

Thats only if your car is payed off...If you are like me and still paying on it, you might want to consider dumping your tax return or something on a SC.

-I don't have any decent quarter mile times yet. Hopefully in the spring I'll be in that 14.2-4.0 range.
-Installed it myself and using the install guide it wasn't that difficult. Took me two days.
-I am running lean. I will be adding a aftermarket fuel pump to correct that.
-I have the powerdyne unit and bought it from ftforce. I had no problems dealing with them.

If I had to make the choice again of getting an 8 or supercharging my 6 again, I would still supercharger my 6. I have had fun and learned a lot more then I would have if I just went the v8 route.

If I wanted a V8 I would have gotten one a long time ago. But I truly stick with the V6 because it has 3800 V6 from Buick and I know what potential gem this little engine can be. Beside it is a challenge that I like, and when you beat and LT1 and an LS1 man that really feels good. I haven't raced a modified V8 though only stock ones.

I have mine installed at Vector Perf. It really depends how many mods you have in your car when it comes to times. But I know that a 6lbs PD on a stock V6 is equal to a stock LT1.
