I dont kno about you guys. but what about batmans kit? He has spent so much time and effort and money, and a whole world of other stuff he sacrificed in the process of getting this ati project going. dont get me wrong, turbo's are awesome, but have u ever been in, or driven a supercharged car?

i've driven a GS-T eclipse pushing 15 lbs of boost, with all the gadgets and everything. dont get me wrong, it was fast as hell. but its nothing compared to the GTP i drove pushing about the same amount of boost. There is just something about the flat torque curve that the supercharger offers. i basically had an O face as i pushed on the gas. amazing feeling.

just curious on this one. all you guys are so thrilled about BATMANS kit, but now its like your stabbing him in the back. cause say if they do come out with a turbo set up, which will u go for?

Dont get me wrong, but if i were batman.. i woulda just lost all of my confidence on making this kit, cause it seems like all of his support would rather have a turbo kit made.

But i gotta hand it to batman for doing all of this hard dedicated work for the v6 community. and i support him 100% and have great deals of respect for the man. i cant wait till the kit comes out. im saving up everything im making right now for this ati kit. and i wish Batman the best of luck as far as everything goes with the making of this kit.

...i dont kno if this was supposed to be put in lounge or not, but considering its supercharger/turbo related.. i'd put it in here... i just felt like ranting about something thats been bouncin around in my mind for the passed days.

I've been quiet about the ATI kit. But am still supportive. Just haven't had anything to add that would be constructive, and didn't want to get mired down in the negative stuff...

I was one of the first people to get in touch with Batman when he offered the beta kit slots, and was the second one to get a deposit in his hands. Since the first person dropped out, I guess that puts me at the top of the list now...

I have wondered about doing an LS1 swap, or swapping cars, but I always come back to getting the supercharger. There is just something about doing it with a 6, that is very intriguing to me, plus being on the leading edge of something, and getting to learn so much more by doing something like this to my car.

The wait has been hard at times. At the same time, it prompted me to go play with nitrous in the meantime, which I probably wouldn't have done otherwise. Plus after going through a divorce and all that goes with it, back in the summer and fall, the wait has given me a chance to try to get some money built back up again...

So that's my two cents worth...

As much as I do appriciate Batman and all his work, I want competition. Without a doubt all his work will be the pioneering factor in high boost Foreced Induction from the point it comes out and on. He will tell us what the max boost is, when new injectors are needed, if PCM tuning is a necessity, all that!
BUT... if there's a supercharger kit out, AND a Turbo, there's competition which brings the price down! It also adds variation to the fbody world! We all dont go around driving the same color, with the same mods do we? Some like the high-pitch "airplane" noise of a SC; others like the "woosh" of a blow off valve.
Since both kits are still in the planning/making phase, there's no way to signify which one is better or cheaper at this point. BUT, the more thats out there the happier we are, right?

btw...
I think we all are behind batman 110%!!! I've stuck up for him in threads before. I want the most for the community, and I think Batman understands.

you kno.. i forgot about the compitition a turbo kit would bring to the ati company. competition creates better products at cheaper prices. MMmMmm!! but im still for SC all the way

You can't compare the GTP's roots blower to the centrifical one in batmans kit, they are as different as blowers can get. Infact I think that batmans is more closely related to a turbo than a roots blower, just my opinion though. Its awsome that there are people like batman that will put in the time and effort. We should do are part and support them as best we can.

Yup, roots style superchargers are positive displacement pumps, and don't actually compress air. Centrifugal superchargers and turbochargers on the other hand do compress air, and they should be grouped together. A centrifugal supercharger is basically the compressor side of a turbo with some gears and is driven by a belt.

I have a Buick Grand National friend that is going to build me a turbo. So my vote goes for turbo. BUT, the only reason I am going this route and not taking BATMAN up on one of his Beta spots is because of cost. I get the parts and labor very cheap because its a friend doing my kit. If I had enough money I would definatly be all over BATMAN's kit. It is quaility.

Me too.
And I always liked turbos better than supercharger. I support batman though. More choices for our cars are always good.

Remember the centrifugal super acts more like a turbo since it isnt a positive displacement blower like a roots...

You will have more of a "it goes quicker as it goes quicker" sensation rather than the other kind of off the line power feeling.

And remember that a centrifugal supercharger acts like a turbo because a turbosupercharger is in fact a type of scentrifugal supercharger. I think that's the biggest reason
