Twin Supercharging

Would it be possible to put to powerdyne units on a 3.8 2000 camaro I know the engine would need to be built up but is tis possible and about how much boost could you run with and without intercoolers [img]graemlins/burnout.gif[/img]

2 SC running off the same smooth side of the belt. I'm sure it'd be possable, but I doubt it'd be efficient

Superchargers rob power from the engine, so I hear. Somewhere around 15-20%. Correct me if that's wrong. Maybe two is just for more boost, without having to do all the custom header work with turbos. It might be easier for somebody to make brackets that hold on a supercharger, than it is for them to get all the custom work done. That would be my guess as to why anyone would do it. Plus no turbo lag(even though it's really a thing of the past anyway)

It just makes no sense at all to do 2 superchargers. Why put the 2nd one on there? Why not just run more boost out of 1 supercharger? It will have less drag on your belts and be lots lots cheaper. I just dont see you getting more power out of 2 superchargers.

didnt the astin martin v12 vanguish have dual superchargers? it was some astin martin that did... i dont see a point in robbing twice the power to spin the turbine. and its not like it'll be like a sequential setup..cause they create boost almost instantly

Perhaps you could have two superchargers, both with large pulleys, so that they don't have to spin fast at low RPM to get good boost, so then at the higher RPM, you would be preventing the problem of "beating the air" that can come when a supercharger is set up aggressively, but can't handle the higher end rpms. This way, both chargers could spin slower, and force the same or a greater mass of air into the engine, perhaps without heating it so much.

The aston martnin vantage has twin Screw supercharges, like the gtp only 2 of them, and its on a v8 not v12. It make 550bhp of 600bhp depending on model. But they don't make them anymore cause they couldn't pass emmisions.
