Can a Vortech SC be retrofited to the 3.8 much like the way the pro charger is? Has any done or thought about this? The vortech is cheaper and is better in quaitly than the pro charger. I think the LT1 kit can be retrofited for the 3.8. Please post your imput.

Personally I like Vortech the most and I am the first one to use a ram kit and whisper on a SC because I saw an LS1 using a Vortech with these.
Anything can made and there used to be a shop here in Cali. that would do it (Climax Racing)like they did to Nick's 3.4 maro. But I think they were bought off by Area 51 or they stop doing street and drag cars and went off road.

If you cam make a procharger fit, you can make a Vortech fit. I have to disagree about the quality part though. I have the benifit of living down the street from ATI in Overland Park, KS, and I've seen many straight-up comparisons between the two, and all I have to say is ProCharger walks all over Vortech, but then again, I could be biased :D The only thing Vortech has I like is there air-to-water aftercooler, very nice even though you have to relocate your battery. You want to know what\'s on my car? Tough luck!

I've been working quietly on a project to make either the Voretch VS-1 or the Paxton NOVI-1000 fit in our cars. I believe it will be practical to make it run off the same serpentine belt as everything else. The pulley will be situated between and below the water pump and the belt tensioner and the head unit will be on the forward side of the belt. It will be a reverse rotating unit that uses the ribs of the belt. The bracket will be made from 6061-T6 or 7075-T6 aircraft aluminum. As soon as I have made the first one and I know it fits well, I will begin producing copies for sale. I will not produce a kit, just the bracket for the head unit. The rest, including oiling, air filtration, pulley diameter size (which ultimately controls boost), intercooling, fuel control and programming will be up to the installer as they see fit for their application. This is for those who want to do things their way and don't want to buy an off-the-shelf kit. If you want something all inclusive, I suggest using Batman's kit because I'm sure it will be excellent. If you want to do some of the work yourself at considerable savings, these brackets will be available sometime in the spring. I would like some feedback on how many would be interested and which head unit would be prefered (Vortech or Paxton).180 Thermo, K&N Filter, Transgo stage 2, Pacesetters, Magnaflow cat, Flowmaster Catback, 3.42 LSD, Hotchkis LCA/Panhard, Bilstein, Eibach Pro, 1LE bars, SP crossdrilled/slotted rotors.

Vortech Project 1.0 failed.
Vortech Project 2.0 in the works

I would be very interested in a quality bracket that could fit the Vortech or Paxton. Please keep us updated on how it turns out.
