Ive heard that i can mount my intercooler under my bumper instead of in front of it. And im not sure if mine will fit. ITs not a big intercooler at all.. its dimentions are 22 inches by 9 1/2 by 3 1/2. Do you think it will fit?

that might be too tall. take a look at these pics in the 3.8 litter section and measure your lower bumper area.

i don't know about your camaro. only thing is to find somebody with a 95 or similar. ask around. look at membber websites and members that have turbow. check the sticky posts at the top os this forum to see who is running what and maybe ask them specificaly.

I mounted a 30"x6"x3" under my bumper and I didn't cut out anything. It was a tight fit though. So your extra 3" might need a little trimming.

hey thanks for the pics! yeah my intercooler is a little bit bigger. but i think i can make it fit. from what i see i need ot cut part of the bumper off underneithe. ill see if i can get a pic or something95 black 3.8 camaro, Intake, Pacesetters, Flowmaster 80 series, accel plugs and wires, B&M shift kit (eh could be better), hopefully a highflow cat soon. and a bunch of appearance mods.

i put a 36x12x3 Ic in there i removed everthing at the back of my bumper and cut the center out so it gets airwww.turbov6camaro.com

This might be a really stupid question, but mounting it under the bumper like that...does it get enough airflow to really justify saving space and avoid cutting out the front?
Just curious because if it really does work well, that's how I'll do mine. How are you guys measuring 'works well' ??
Do you look at intake air temp? That's what i'm thinking... if i'm running 8psi boost and getting lower temps than someone without an intercooler, i know it's working [img]smile.gif[/img]

You're best bet is what I did. Take the front bumper off, drill out the rivets holding the honeycomb bumper plastic to the bumper support. Get some "L" brackets from home depot, and modify them so that you can bracket your IC to the metal bumper support. If you do it right, when you cut the faux grille that GM gave us, it will leave the intercooler fully exposed to incoming air and obviously leave space behind the intercooler when you make your brackets. Now you also don't have to worry about starving your radiator of fresh air. I feel this is the overall best way for the car. This is still my opinion, though its pretty much supported through facts. The way the radiator and AC condensor get air flow is from underneath anyway. The air dam is there to force air up and through all those plastic pieces and through the radiator. So I mounted mine in that same air stream. I've logged my IA temps and under boost I can see a raise but the temp isn't too much more than atmospheric. Before I had an intercooler I was getting temps in the ~130 degree range.
I also mounted it there because I didn't want it so exposed. And slight tap or road debrits could tear the intercooler up pretty good.
I also wonder how the air flow compares when you mount it behind the bumper/grill.
