UPDATE - after posting on a local board, I may have scored a SRT-4 intercooler free.
Little small, but it will fit.

Will someone please detail to me the stock forward sweeping headers? Do you reverse both manifolds and then connect a y-pipe and do you
keep the AC too? I have not seen anyone do this with a custom y-pipe yet, but I am curious as to
how it is established.

I'll agree I dont think a BOV is nessary at lower boost numbers. But I along with the turbo buicks are automatics. I dont think I would run BOVless with a manual for very long.

It sounds like this is going to be a nice setup for the money. I have all the parts sitting in my garage for my setup and I have spent way more than I expected. :(

I am not entirly sure about the flipped manifolds yet. I am not even sure if they point in a direction I want them to, but I will get to a point that I can take the headers off and play with things, add onto them, or make my own.
We will see how it plays out.

I had thought about flipping a pair of headers around for awhile. I picked up used pacesetters for $75, so they were cheap. The manifolds flanges are made so they can only fit one side, but my thought was why not just redrill the holes. The only difference is the bolt holes are opposite on each side, so if you just drilled holes opposite each other the manifold should fit the other side. The very end of each manifold would need to have a tab welded onto the flange, but that could be grinded smooth again or even just leave that last bolt out. Good luck with your project, it sounds like you've gotten most of the important stuff for pretty cheap so far. Now it's just gonna be some fabricating time.

Yeah, I am getting a used BOV from a SR20DET engine for cheap. So I am going to put it on. It is actually a bypass valve which is what I need because I am going to run an LSx maf in a draw through setup.

have fun. Keep us updated.

If the forward sweeping header idea doesnt go as planned. Keep your drivers side header stock, make your y pipe a crossover pipe and do it grand national style. theres gotta be a way to make the passanger side header a forward sweeping header with a collector for the crossover pipe..

UPDATED - Got my intercooler! Cheap! Woohoo!

I might look into the GN style manifolds, my friend that gave me the turbo originally told me to try it.

the only problem i could see with gn style manifolds.. after lots of though. is that wouldnt the passanger side o2 read 'off' numbers because its gett'n the exhaust gasses from the drivers side as well?

hopefully ravenp can chime in on this one.

What kind of intercooler?

Ima have to call u for your hookups when i decide to getting around to a turbo project. lol

My o2 readings are VERY close. I have logged runs in the last few days where my trims are identical on both banks, so I dont' think it's an issue.

I have other issues still but that's one thing that seems to be working

I am thinking of doing custom manifolds now. Like shanes. Weld els aren't that much from what I hear. I can make or get flanges really cheap too. I have that connection at pacesetter... hmmm....
