Ok Ive been reading through all the post for the powerdyne and I read some stuff that really freaked me out.DISCLAIMER-I dont know sh** about mechanics atleaste compared to half of you.... Anyways there are quite a few people saying dont get it! There saying wait for this and that to come out cus it will be better. I completely respect that and I hope that there will be a superior supercharger for our cars. Never the less there are quite a few people yelling somthing I dont understand... Dont get it cuz it sucks! It only mahes 6lbs of booste and will only get you 50-60 rwhp. The best you'll see with it is high 13's if your lucky! Now thats the part that trips me out? Only 50-60 rwhp? Last time I checked most of our cars are makeing only 155-165 stock. Now I said most of us.....So lets say that your powerdyne actully puts out 55 rwhp and your car bone stock had 160 rwhp. You just netted roughly 32% more rwhp. So now your rwhp would be 215 rwhp. I know those are not LS1 numbers but I still find that to be a very worth while mod. How are people saying that this is not good power adder or that if you want to go REALLY fast dont get it? Is there somthing else out there available besides SSM thatI am not aware of? Or is it just that some people dont realize that 50-60 rwhp on a 3.8 liter v6 is actualy a HUGE power increase compared to what else is available for our car? Just my opinion... Thanks for reading, Laron

That's basically it... however, with an intercooled ATI supercharger running off a ribbed belt, you should be able to push 8-10 psi, for a little more money, and nearly double your gain. hopefully the cost of a Powerdyne kit will decrease with the release of the ATI kit.Matt
2000 Firebird

FullThrottleV6.com

Hopefully your right and it will double the gains, it will be sweet to see 3800's in the 12's off just bolt ons and a supercharger. I personaly am the kinda guy who just has to have it now. Also I know I wont be able to afford the price tag on the ATI charger, even if it were priced the same as a powerdyne. It will be a while after it comes out that you'll actually be able to find a used one, however the powerdyne will be abundant in used form. I have a used powerdyne coming soon that I paid 22000$ for and I asked myself several times before I agreed to buy it-How mad am I gonna be when another one comes out and blows this one away in performance? I determined that I would not be upset at all because I will still be ahead of 95% of people out there who dont have a charger. In retrospect I actually have a pretty extensive mods list. But compared to many on this board I have nonthing. That pretty much sums up my decision to get the powerdyne now. Sure, soon there will be the ATI wich people on this board WILL buy and blow my numbers away, but for that 4.6 or turbo eclipse who underestimates me and is actually staged beside me...Ill be happy.Powerdyne 98 a4 convert

stock 16.6 @ 86

6 lbs boost 15.1 @ 90

04 A4 2.73 geared white Corvette Coupe

stock- 13.5 @ 103

LS6 conversion-13.1 @ 107
http://members.cardomain.com/greenglow98 ( pics of intercooled powerdyne)

You might also be able to get away with buying the conversion kit from Stefan and Company and a used P600B for a significant savings... assuming that the P600B is in good condition.Matt
2000 Firebird

FullThrottleV6.com

It really does depend on your set up. A SC will act more synergistically with the other mods you have. A 6lbs boost is only an estimation, this is something James at Vector Perf. never got right. My SC can make 7-8lbs on what suppose to be a 6lbs pulley, on a bad day it will make 5lbs. PD is a great mod, along with cam, heads, water/alcohol injection, converter, 3.73, and a good exhaust system, I wouldn't doubt 12 sec.V6 to be the product.
If you check out our Stang brothers at V6power.com, their top 12 sec. guy is running an almost similar set up PD.
The only thing that PD have an advantage over ATI is that it doesn't cause that much parasitic lost and the impeller is better, it sucks in air right away and boost starts the minute you start your engine.

Read my previous post about "supercharger options." I believe it will be a good choice for do-it-yourselfers to get what they want and save some money while having some control over the system they install.180 Thermo, K&N Filter, Transgo stage 2, Pacesetters, Magnaflow cat, Flowmaster Catback, 3.42 LSD, Hotchkis LCA/Panhard, Bilstein, Eibach Pro, 1LE bars, SP crossdrilled/slotted rotors.

Vortech Project 1.0 failed.
Vortech Project 2.0 in the works
