I notice Corky Bell is very much against it. But I think it is very helpful when it comes to detonation, gas, and running cool. Not only that, it helps keep your engine clean and healthy. A good noticeable increase in HP.
I would put it on the intake manifold and not before. You don't want it to condense in the turbo. It will ruin the impellers, which has a tendency to rust if that happens.

Corky Bell is against it, because in his mind, if you did all the math and have a perfectly matched system for your car, you shouldn't need methanol. But hey, cooler intake temps are cooler intake temps right?
You don't want to put it before the turbo, because that defeats the purpose. The idea is to further cool the intake charge after the intercooler has done its job. That being said, to live up to its full potential, methanol needs to be atomized. For that to occur, the best place to inject it is after the intercooler, but before the throttle body. Alot of people angle the injector so it's spraying against the intake current to further complete atomization.
The more fine the mist the less damage you will do injecting before the turbo (might even prevent heat soaking of the intercooler this way). After the turbo/intercooler requires a high pressure pump. Injecting after the intercooler will likely give you a lower temp in the intake manifold (like Teufel Hunden said) and you are more likely to still have tiny droplets when filling the cylinder. The evaporation of these droplets on the compression stroke will keep temperatures down (very good thing). However, injecting water/methanol (ie cheap blue winshield washer fluid) dose more than lower temperatures, it is an octane booster. Just not one you can mix with gasoline so you have to inject it seperately. Kits on ebay, programable systems like aquamist, or DIY. I like a saab winshield washer fuid tank for a reservoir. It holds more than a gallon and has a sensor for low fuild level. NAPA sells pressure switches. Fixed 5 psi (oil pressure sensor with fuel pump switch) and adjustable (0.5 to 22 psi?)
