I was reading about 3.8's in gm hi tech perf and they say that the 3.8 II block is very strong and reliable. Our engines have hyperutectic pistons, forged rods, and a nodualr cast iron crank, same material as an Ls1. I think that some of you guys are underestimating the amount of boost our motors can take. I might run a blower, like a vortech or procharger {yeah there is no kit but all you need are custom brackets to use the one for an Lt1} I think you could probably run 10 pounds of intercooled boost and I just might try it. i can agree with this. i think the 3.8l is extreme strong motor. i run a 100 shot with an aftermarket cam and i have no problems.. come to think of it i can think of only 2 people here on this board that blew there motors and that was because of poor tuning and so forth..

yes, the crank can handle it, yes, the rods can handle it, no, the pistons can't handle it. too much boot+too high compression+low octane+no spark retard=detonation. oh, and while we're at it, detonation=bad if u didn't know that already. it's funny to see how ignorant people can be.2001 Arctic White Firebird
More mods than I\'m allowed to list!

Sorry guys, but he just described batmans kit exactly. I thought someone else might see that. So obviously batman and bill think that it will take 10psi with an intercooler. I think most people on this board are worried about going over 9psi with out an intercooler, but with one your fine. Again sorry about the earlier post. I didn't mean it like it came off.Turbocharged and intercooled.
17psi(oops), stock fuel pump, no FMU
http://www.cardomain.com/id/phoenix64
Video: ftp://ftp.pfabrication.com Assorted car ****: TurboCamaroFull.

God do you ever shut up? I tried sticking up for you in the beginning and all you do is talk. It's like you hear people saying stuff about other cars and repeat it like a damn parrot. Yes the 3.8 can handle 10lbs. of INTERCOOLED boost. So what? And there's always a point where one more pound of boost will be the straw that broke the camel's back. Just quit it with the **** dude, you come off as a jackass.---
-\'95 3.4L M5 Camaro
