Well I tightened it myself and I now get 4 pounds of boost. Felt really good but still not good enough... So I loosened everything up and will try again when car cools down. Man if thats what 3-4 pounds of boost feels like I cant wait to get 6 or 7. IM feeling happy right now.Powerdyne 98 a4 convert

stock 16.6 @ 86

6 lbs boost 15.1 @ 90

04 A4 2.73 geared white Corvette Coupe

stock- 13.5 @ 103

LS6 conversion-13.1 @ 107
http://members.cardomain.com/greenglow98 ( pics of intercooled powerdyne)

I got mine from Autozone. I think Pepboys might have them too. It's a yellow can.
Green, yeah loosen up the tensioner and let the belt cool down for like a day or so. Then tighten it up again. While your letting it cool down, spray some of that belt dressing.
I had similar experience too when I first had mine. I only had 2-3 psi, but soon got it to 6-8 psi. Yeah I remember it got to 10 psi. and that was scary because the car fish tailed all over the place. I swear if the streets were narrower or if there were people or cars around, I would have hit them.

I did what you said and Im still only getting 4 psi at this time but it is a solid 4 psi. Its going like this right now.... 1 gear-1-3 psi 2 gear-3-4 psi and 3 gear actually got up to 5 psi today. I was doing like 100 mph and the car was pulling really strong still so I had to slow down.I hope it pulls like that at the track cus normally by the time I get to 90 mph my car is barely crawling up to the 118. Is that how the blower is suppossed to work? Giving you a little more with each gear or should I be at 6 psi from the beginning to end?Powerdyne 98 a4 convert

stock 16.6 @ 86

6 lbs boost 15.1 @ 90

04 A4 2.73 geared white Corvette Coupe

stock- 13.5 @ 103

LS6 conversion-13.1 @ 107
http://members.cardomain.com/greenglow98 ( pics of intercooled powerdyne)

it should give you more psi depending on where you are on the Tach...the higher the rpm, the more boost, since it's centrifugal. A roots would give the (almost) the same amount of boost independent of rpm...Your sig is the most important part of your message. Make sure that you list EVERY single thing that you have done to your car so that we can all go \'oooh!\' and \'Ah!\'. Please make your sig consistently longer than anything else you post. Please include your lengthy sig with EVERY single post you make during a reply, even if you only reply with a monosyllable grunt.

I had the same thing happen. New belts seem to stretch out a lot so you will prob. have to keep tightening it at first. Just remember that the tighter you make the belt, the more strain you are putting on other accessories such as the alternator.
Do you have a boost gauge? If so what does it read at idle? Check to make sure you don't have any vaccum leaks.
Tighten that belt and post some new track times! :D1997 Supercharged Firebird
14.01@99.7mph 2.1 60ft.

I took it to my mecanic and now sometimes see 5 psi. I see what your saying, it seems like the more I stretch the belt and retighten it the more slowly but surely I get more boost. When my car is running in park it stays right around the 20 on my boost guage. You know the 20 before the 0 in wich boost starts.Powerdyne 98 a4 convert

stock 16.6 @ 86

6 lbs boost 15.1 @ 90

04 A4 2.73 geared white Corvette Coupe

stock- 13.5 @ 103

LS6 conversion-13.1 @ 107
http://members.cardomain.com/greenglow98 ( pics of intercooled powerdyne)

That is 20 inches of mercury of vacuum. Are you red lining with every shift. Not to be a hypocrite, but with a centrifugal blower, boost does come with RPMs. Otherwise, I would think about doing a two sided belt conversion so you have good contact. I am getting the image that your mechanical amplitude isn't that good, but the way it sounds with you all putting so much tension into these belts to get boost, all you are going to do is burn out the bearings of all your accessories.
Last case scenario is that you simply aren't spinning the charger fast enough to get boost? And does your intake plumbing have smooth transitions with no sharp-kinked bends, weird contractions or anything. Any type of bend, reduction, and kink will reduce the amount of pressure your engine sees, the smoothest, straightest path is the best. I didn't read this whole post, but where is your pressure gauge located? If it is too close to the head unit, the air velocity will be such that you won't have as much pressure. The only true way to measure absolute pressure in the intake is with a large plenum so the air velocity is close to zero. Otherwise, the pressure energy will be exiting as a velocity energy and may not turn into pressure until it enters the intake manifold and expanded. So if your intake piping is very small in diameter where the sensor is, you are only reading part of the energy that is existing as pressure and the rest is going by unnoticed as velocity. I could go into more depth with you on fluid mechanics, but that is a good over view of what else could possibly be going on.

UUUHHHH...... Thanks but my mechanical knowledge is far beneath you, so in simpler terms I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU JUST SAID??? So could you , if possible please explain it to me in more simple terms? Or could someone else who understands please break it down for me?Powerdyne 98 a4 convert

stock 16.6 @ 86

6 lbs boost 15.1 @ 90

04 A4 2.73 geared white Corvette Coupe

stock- 13.5 @ 103

LS6 conversion-13.1 @ 107
http://members.cardomain.com/greenglow98 ( pics of intercooled powerdyne)

he wants to know where your boost guage sensor? is located. if it is either right after the supercharger, right before the throttle body, or in the middle or wherever else u can put it.
i think in less advanced terms. what he is trying to say (i think!) is that if your boost sensor is too far away from the throttle body, your gonna get a delay of actual pressure (psi).
like say your sensor is right before the throttle body, it can measure the boost "real time." instead of having to wait till all that pressure travels back to the actualy supercharger.
hope this helps clear it up.
and if im totally wrong about what he was saying...
WOOPS!

Thanks Tyler I see what you mean... If its to ar away it wont be accurrate. Ill check that and reply soon. Oh by the way, I went to the track on Friday and got a whopping 16.0. I was so F-ing pissed off. Whats happening?????????????????????????????????? Im mad but I could tell somthing was wrong so Ill let it go and try again this Friday. I used this belt dressing called Pyrol I got from Checkers write before I raced and I think that was the problem . Cas it made the belt more slick than sticky like it should. I have had the car running strong (4-5 psi) and I know that at a minimum it was a low 15 sec car. Probaly more like high 14 when Im actually geting 5 psi. Hopefully Im right and Ill know this Friday.Powerdyne 98 a4 convert

stock 16.6 @ 86

6 lbs boost 15.1 @ 90

04 A4 2.73 geared white Corvette Coupe

stock- 13.5 @ 103

LS6 conversion-13.1 @ 107
http://members.cardomain.com/greenglow98 ( pics of intercooled powerdyne)

Green don't get frustrated. Just about everybody that gets a major poweradders tends to get bugs. I had one and it took me several months to weed it out. Even today I still develop bugs every time I put in a mod or if one thing goes wrong it affects the other.
Just fine tune it. Check your fuel to make sure that there is enough fuel. Check the boost. Also let the computer get use to the amount of air that is now getting. I mean if you notice the harsh idling, it will soon calm down a bit, not much though.
Also, just maybe, replace your PCV valve, spark plug(cold plugs) and wires, go for 160 thermo stat.
Just keep at it

Oh trust me I got to much love and money tied up in her to give up. Ive already got the colder plugs and the 160 stat. It did stall on me once at the track and now I sometimes get the ses light??? Possible fuel problem? My fuel pressure guage is under my hood, so when my cars in park and I hand throttle it my guage reads 40 somthing. Those that sound right? Honestly I think My only problem is a slipping belt. Ill only get 4-5 psi if I dont slam the pedal down to quick. Ive noticed that sometimes the belt catches well and she pulls like a MO-FO... Then other times its slipping and I barely feel like I got a power adder. Kinda like when I pulled that 16.0 at 87 mph the other night. Man that one really hurt me bad. I really feel Ninos pain in reguards to his ssm deal he had. But Im not gonna give up till I got some 14's to post. I have read that roughing up the smooth side of the belt helps out. Can someone tell me how they roughed theres up?Powerdyne 98 a4 convert

stock 16.6 @ 86

6 lbs boost 15.1 @ 90

04 A4 2.73 geared white Corvette Coupe

stock- 13.5 @ 103

LS6 conversion-13.1 @ 107
http://members.cardomain.com/greenglow98 ( pics of intercooled powerdyne)
