I wouldn't rough up your belt, I think that is just going to make it wear out a lot faster. If you want to change your drive belt ever the whole supercharger head unit has to come off.

The reason I asked what your fuel pressure was at wide open throttle was to make sure your fmu was working. I installed mine and had it hooked up to the wrong vaccum line, im lucky i didnt lose my motor with 9lbs of boost and running very lean. Might want to get a fuel pressure gauge in the car and make sure its up there around 60-70 psi under wide open throttle. I ran a 14.9 without the fmu working becuase the car would run out of fuel in high rpms. I still think you need to work on getting that belt tighter or find some sticky belt dressing.

Hey you were right superbird. Sorry if I said your name wrong. I was getting 3-4 pounds of boost lately and then I tried some different belt dressing and without even retightening the belt Im now getting a constant 5 psi. Im sure that once I tighten it down some and spray on some more belt dressing I should be in the 5-7 psi range for the track this Friday. Hopefully Ill finally see 14's.

Tyler, I've said this before... Please don't reply to technical threads if you don't know what the hell you are talking about.

The boost gauge should be attached to a vacuum source, that way you see exactly what your engine sees. There is a natural vacuum to overcome within the engine before any positive pressure is reached. Under idle you should see 18-22 inches of Hg and you shouldn't actually hit positve boost until about 2k rpm under WOT. Your FMU does not activate (snap shut) until that threshold point is reached. So by keeping an eye on your gauge, as long as you stay under vacuum at all times, your fuel economy will be fantastic. Also, this is useful if there is something wrong with your setup and you don't want to accidentally damage something by going into boost.

Where do you guys have your FMU's mounted? I thought everyone mounted them in the same place? It's not supposed to be in the intake pipe before the throttle body. Who cares what the pressure is inside the pipe, what you're concerned with is what happens just after the throttle plate.

On my setup we connect it to the vacuum line that runs to the FMU, works great. That should work fine for Powerdyne setups as well, assuming they use a more or less standard FMU (I've seen a lot of different brands on a lot of different cars but they all look the same).

Yup thats how mine looks. I think I had mine hooked up on the left side of the motor somewhere before I moved it. That didn't work at all .

I went to the track and only ran twice in 3 hours. With 3 pounds of boost and a half tank of gas I ran a 15.6 at 88 mph. My best ever. I ran that time off a 2.3 60 foot. Im having a hard time learning to launch with the blower. I think the reason I only had 3 psi instead of my usual 5 is because I sprayed belt dressing on the belt immediatly before I ran and it didnt have enough time to dry and gave me a oppisite affect. I feel confident that when I get control of my 60 foot and actually run with my 5 psi or better on a quarer tank that sub 15's are pssible. Also I still have the stock cat. Could this be why Im having such a hard time getting 6 psi and not getting the times I deserve? Oh last thing. There was another v6 maro there and all he had was a slp lid and ftra and he ran a 15.8. At first I was really pissed off that are times are so close, but then I thought about it and realized that sure Ive spent 10 times more money then him but atleaste at the end of that particular day I can say I had the faster car.

Alright Green! Now imagine your car running 6lbs of boost. That's easily a low 14.

Also, make sure you spray the belt dressing 24 hours before the race. Then take it to the track and tighten it there (you can tighten it at home too before the race,I say that because the track might be close to your house and it never got a chance to heat up and contract). Maybe a little hint. I saw this from a Vortech LS1. Put an ice pack on the intake plenum, even if you haven't ran yet (according to him). Let it get cold then ran that race.

I use prestone and I spray it by letting the engine run. Then I tell my wife to immediately shut off the engine before the belt slips off the water pump pulley. The belt is wet and you can even move it side to side from the pulleys. After 24 hours I would touch the belt and it is sticky.

Good luck on your next run

Thanks Thor... fOR ALL THE SUPPORT FROM THE VERY BEGINNING. I knew that had to be why I lost boost. Still havent seen 6 psi yet, but have got about 5 and a half. Im having a straight pipe installed before this friday for the cat. Hopefully 14,s arent that far away. Thanks again.

No not yet camarorulz. Hopefully I can go to the track again this Friday. I feel pretty confident that the 15.6 at 88 mph I got on Friday SHOULD be easy to beat. Im gonna use the tips Ive been getting from people and hopefully this trial and error Ive been doing will pay off.

lol..stefan. i was only TRYING to help. i have no forced induction skills.. but sheesh. thats what it seemed the guy was talk'n about.

he said he needed it in simpler terms.. i tried..

and i apologized ahead of time if i was totally wrong.

would it have been more apropriate if i just was like " idiot!?"

I went to the track and got another 15.6. My mechanic was there and took her for run down the track. He said that she is defiently running extremely lean. That would explain why I somtimes feel like Im driving a beast and then somtimes driving a my little pony. Hes gonna hook it up to his computer on tuesday and verify the problem. He's gonna install some 24lb injectors for me and also some 3.73's and a zexal torsen. So I wont be a one legger anymore. He's doing this all for $400. Parts and labor. He's getting them from a wrecked Lt1 he has at his shop. Well Ill post again when I get those 24lb injectors hooked up. Hopefully that will make the differance.

Are you sure that your FMU is hooked up right? You should be fine on stock injectors up at only 6psi.

Mine ran lean becuase the fmu wasnt hooked up right. Injectors are not needed for 6lbs of boost. You need to get a fuel pressure gauge and find out what your fuel pressure is before you start adding injectors. It's possible you have a weak fuel pump. Add the gauge and then post your fuel pressure. This sounds very similar to what happened after mine was hooked up. Fuel pressure should read about 42 at idle and 54 at wot on a stock pump. With the fmu I am at 79 at wot.
