SuperV6bird is right. You might do more damage than harm by changing the stock injectors and having a FMU. Let him ran the engine on the computer to find out what the problem is. Maybe you are running lean and have him check the FMU to make sure it is hooked up right. Also I notice in your sig that you have Jet scu 2000, isn't that a chip that advances your timing? Not a good thing to have for force induction.
Next time you run the track put some 104 octane in your tank and set the boost retardant to 0. You'll get a better run. Keep us updated.
My jet scu 2000 is not the jet chip that advances timing. It is only to get the speedo to read right and take off the speed limiter. I was gonna go with the 24lb injectors because Ironman runs his with that and no FMU. But if you guys say I dont need it with just 6 psi then Ill hold off. I have a fuel pressure guage but its mounted under my hood. I have a plan though, tomorrow I will make it stick out by the window and see what my pressure is under wot. I will post that pressure and see what you guys suggest. Man this road is getting long hard and expensive... Nuff said
Are you running the FMU that came with the kit right now?
If you are you should not need an inline pump. With 6lbs of boost all you need is the stock pump and the fmu.
Ironman24 runs the bigger injectors and pump becuase he also has heads/cam done. With just 6lbs of boost and stock heads you dont need that.
It wouldnt hurt to upgrade to a high flow fuel pump like the walbro or something. I wouldnt mess with an inline pump, I think in-tank is better. Ironman24 posted that he has the inline pump but will be switching to the in-tank walbro once his gives out i think. I am going to get a walbro if I upgrade the stock pump later on.
Before you add any fuel stuff find out what your fuel pressure is at wot and post your current fuel setup.
I figured out a way to put the fuel pressure guage on the outside of my hood and Im actually pretty proud of the way it turned out. He HE. Anyways the car idles at between 42 and 44 or so. Under wot with 5 psi I only got a highest reading of 55 after 5 acceleration runs. It was usually around 52 though at wot though. Those this confirm a fuel problem? If so how can I know if its the fuel pump or fmu? Man sooooo much money. But on the other hand it seems like Im having the same problem Superbird had. If that is the case.... Well he dropped 9 tenths once he figuered it out. That would put me right around 14.5. Heres to wishful thinking.
My fmu was just hooked up to the wrong vaccum line. A FMU will increase fuel pressure under a boost condition. If you dont have it hooked up to the right vaccum line it wont register any boost and thus never give you the added fuel pressure.
Its also possible that your FMU is hooked up correctly and is just not working for whatever reason.
Since you fuel pressure is only 54-55 under wot i doubt it is working. That is what you should see with just the stock pump. It should be hooked up to the vaccum line on the throttle body.
Good news though is that your stock pump is in the right range. Get that FMU working right and you will see low 14s.
How does the car run other then the low times? Seem to run okay? Mine seemed to run perfect and I couldnt figure out what was wrong with it for the longest time. Check the vaccum line and make sure its coming off the throttle body to the back of the fmu. Make sure there are no vaccum leaks anywhere else as well.
It seemed to be running fine enuff for me to take it to the track on 3 seperate occassions. I will take it to my mechanic tomorrow and bring him a copy of this post. What sucks is Im pretty sure my FMU is hooked up correctly so Ill probaly have to buy another FMU or fuel pump. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Speed aint cheap

My mechanic said that the fuel filter was 75% clogged and my fuel pressure guage now read 61 psi when he hand throttled it. Hopefully the extra fuel pressure is a good sighn and when I really get on it my pressure will be in the seventies like its supposed to under boost. Well I should be pickin it up in a hour so Ill let you guys know asap.
